In one month, the Azalea Ring will be transformed for our Specialist Autumn Plant Fair, returning on Sunday 20th September, 10am–3pm.⁠

Hosted by , this much-loved event gathers leading independent nurseries and RHS exhibitors from across the South East, offering a treasure trove of unusual and garden-worthy plants. With stalls set beneath the late-summer canopy, it is a day for wandering, learning, and finding inspiration to carry into your own garden.⁠

The Plant Fair is included with Garden entry, and individual members enjoy 20% off admission on the day.⁠ Guests can also book an exclusive guided tour of our reimagined Walled Kitchen Garden, recently redesigned by award-winning garden designer Ann-Marie Powell.

So sorry folks... I won't be joining in the fabulous Summer Market tomorrow at Trenchmore Farm (for health reasons)

A brilliant range of passionate producers will be there though & it's perfect weather.

Thank you to Arundel Farmers Market for all the support & help today, in quite warm 🥵 conditions !
Lou Crush you are wonderful ❤️

Thank you too to all the stall holders and visitors who helped me down by the river (in Jubilee Gardens) when a HUGE gust of wind literally lifted my heavily weighted gazebo, and saved it from actually flipping over the wall into said river!
Double weighted then wind dropped.

I only had a couple of 🌶 plant casualties thanks to the lovely people helping to put it all back together!
So tonight some lovely little 🌶 plants are happy in their new homes 🏡 ❤️

My next - and last of 2026 - Arundel Market is September 19th.

Oh, the forecast said it would rain tonight. It didn't. Unfortunately.

Knepp Wilding only 3 miles from Chill Towers..

Rare crimson underwings found in vast numbers at Knepp 🦋

Butterfly expert Neil Hulme has reported that these stunning nocturnal moths - both dark and light crimson underwings - haven’t been seen in these numbers in Sussex since the mid-19th century. Knepp seems to be their favourite spot. They’re loving our ancient oaks, feeding on sap bleeding from the bark.

Hard to spot by day, they camouflage perfectly into the bark, but just before dusk they take to the canopy, while resting they flash their brilliant crimson underwings to ward off predators.

Formerly restricted to the New Forest, seeing them here in such numbers suggests they're now firmly established at Knepp.
