**NEW SESSIONS INTEREST**

Would anyone be interested in small group sessions in Sandown on a Tuesday morning? I would cover English and Maths through topic-based scenarios.

- Age range would be from 7 - 11 years.

- Price range would be between £20-£30 for 2 hours (with a break in the middle!). Price depends on the number of children in the group!

If you are interested, please message me and then I can work out numbers. Sessions would start from Tuesday 21st February.

Last week in Ryde, children from IOW Learning Zone had a fantastic time being 'Island Explorers'! This was just a taster session but the children had such a good time, they didn't want to leave! 🤩

We...
* Wrote messages in bottles.
* Made boats to carry as much treasure as possible.
* Made 2D and 3D sea creatures.
* Described sea creatures by writing labels, fact files or posters.
* Sketched shells.
* Made our own telescopes to look out to sea.
* Designed and packed our own suitcases.
* Looked at a world map and used coordinates to help us navigate our journey.

We had so much fun and I'd love to run these sessions in other areas. Where would you like to see these sessions? Newport or Cowes? 🤔😄

My main approach to learning is to make it as interactive and 'hands-on' as possible! 🙌

Two of my students loved this game of matching numbers to words. We then used bar models and part-whole models to show different ways of making each number! They did so well! 🤩

I thought it was about time that I introduced myself!

My name is Rebecca Glasbey and I am a fully qualified primary school teacher. I have recently left the classroom and started this new adventure as I really want to follow my passion of helping children gain confidence in their own ability and to make learning as fun and interactive as possible!

Over the past 9 years, I have enjoyed the various challenges and joys of teaching in schools and I have experience in both key stage 1 and key stage 2. Whilst working at the IOW College, I have also provided one-to-one support for English and maths at key stage 3 level.

My aspiration is to help children build on their current knowledge and skills - whether this be supporting them to get back on track with their learning and/or providing them with further challenges to develop their curiosity.
