Woodlands Day Nursery

Well the day is finally here. It’s time to say Goodbye to Woodlands at the BVC after 2 decades of being here. We have welcomed so many families over this time, some that we still keep in touch with to this day. We have laughed together and cried together but more importantly always stuck together. We have said goodbye to many colleagues who became like family with so many memories made together. We would like to thank all of our families and colleagues past and present for making Woodlands what it is and filling this building with so many memories💖

But this is not a goodbye to Woodlands Day Nursery as we start our new adventure at Arden Forest Infant School. A new beginning to create new memories that we are all so excited for.

We will be logging off this page forever at the end of shift today and creating a new one this week.

Hi Everyone,

At the end of term this page will be deactivated and a new one will be created in line with our fresh new venture to Arden Forest. The business still remains as Woodlands Day Nursery, just located at a lovely new setting 😊

Following on from the phone calls we have received from parents this afternoon, with the news that seems to be circulating social media, we would like to confirm Woodlands Day Nursery is remaining open in the village centre.

With that being said we would like to announce a fantastic opportunity, that we have recently accepted an offer to move to Arden Forest Infant School. We will be moving there at the end of August/beginning of September. This is a brilliant asset to our community and we are very proud of our new venture. If any of our parents have not yet received a letter please don’t worry, there is one here waiting for you.

We have very limited space available for September as we are filling up extremely fast and with this news now circulating we are having a lot of enquiries daily so please get in quickly.

Lost property box!
There is now a box located in the entrance hall full of unclaimed items, please have a look to see if anything belongs to your child when you collect/drop off. Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity on the 11.5.22. Thank you 😊

REMINDER

Please be aware there will be a significant delay coming into the nursery car park today from 3PM due to the village light switch on. Please make sure you give enough time to pick your children up on time.

CHILDREN IN NEED REMINDER.

Tomorrow it is Children In Need, we are asking for the children to wear pyjamas for a £1 donation. 😊

We will be doing activities throughout the day and we will be making cakes to sell for a small donation at the end of each session ☺️

💥 HAPPY DIWALI FROM EVERYONE AT WOODLANDS 💥

Today in preschool we have been celebrating the festival of light by decorating our own Rangoli pictures, investing sensory trays with glitter and rice in, exploring bright colours and making our own diva lamps.

We have also spoken about different types of light and the children are looking forward to seeing some fireworks over the best few nights.

Please can you provide your children with a hat and a scarf, and an appropriate thick coat as it is very cold and we like to take the children in the garden for at least 2 30 minute sessions a day. Thank you 😊

Today in preschool one of the children brought in a GIANT pumpkin that their grandad had grown, the children were amazed by it and spoke about how big and heavy it was. They enjoyed exploring the inside of the pumpkin and talking about what they could do with the seeds. We then spoke about what face to give the pumpkin and each drew a picture of what we wanted it to look like and took a vote. The winning face is visible from preschools window as the children wanted their grown ups to see what they had done!

Just to make you all aware, one of our staff members has tested positive for covid this morning. Please be vigilant with your children and if you feel they need a test please take them for a pcr test. At the moment under 18s do not have to isolate if they have been in contact with a positive case, so all children are fine to attend. Thank you for your understanding :)

The Photographer is really looking forward to meeting your children for their nursery photo shoot friday 15th October

We will be bringing a warm winter backdrop and some seasonal props as as well as taking traditional portraits too -
What to wear? The theme would work really well with navy, red, grey, black, silver, gold, coats, scarves, hats, gloves etc to get real variety - see examples on Facebook/instagram
You will receive a proof card full of photos to choose from and prices range from £10 for a postcard print up to £45 for all 15 images taken on digitally with copyrights to print and share.
You can order online and photos will be delivered back to Nursery. They make great gifts that last forever.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call or email. If your child does not attend nursery on this date, you can still pop in and have their photo’s taken, just let a member of staff know.

Welcome to woodlands hair dressers! 💇‍♀️💇‍♂️

The children in preschool have been showing a lot of interest in hair this week and have spoken about their own experiences having their hairs cut.
Today we have practiced our scissor skills and cut some of our clients hair, we spoke about how to use the scissors safely and what hairstyle we were giving to our clients.
