Search and rescue training notification! 📣

On Saturday 21 February from 9am – 3pm, West Mercia Search & Rescue are running search and rescue training around the Hawkbatch area of Wyre Forest.

Please be aware they will have one search dog that will be deployed to some search areas.

What a week it’s been at Eden Custom Training!

Over the last 7 days, our team has been on the move, delivering life-saving training across a huge variety of sectors:

🏨 I have met with operations managers at hotels across the UK, to discuss opportunities on how we can support their staff training.

🏥 Our trainers have delivered Emergency First aid at Work, together with Fire Safety (Including Evacuation Equipment), plus Moving and Handling to Nursing and Care home staff

⛪ We have delivered Bleed Control Kit Training to Church Community Centre Staff, after we donated a FREE Bleed Control Kit to them.

🙏 We supported a village Parish Church Council and the WI, with Safe use of an AED training. Which supports the use of their public access defibrillator.

🚒 Then at the weekend we were supporting a Fire & Rescue Service, delivering a Qualsafe Level 3 First Response Emergency Care (FREC). Training operational staff in 'Best Practice' Pre Hospital Care.

There is so much more that goes on behind the scenes, before we get to support your training needs.

We've also been busy behind the scenes, preparing quotes, planning new opportunities, and making sure we stay at the forefront of best practice by keeping up to date with the latest Resuscitation Council UK 2025 Guidelines.

It’s been a rollercoaster of a week, we have been very humbled by the amazing feedback that we received, and inspiring to see so many people investing in training that could 'Save a Life' in a real emergency situation.

Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines 2025 : Key Changes Explained

Last week The Resuscitation Guidelines UK 2025 were published. Included within the new guidelines are significant changes to First Aid and improved practice for Life Saving skills for First Aiders.

Did you know?

It is recommended by the Health and Safety Executive that trained First Aiders undertake annual refresher training.

“T𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦, 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵-𝘢𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨”. (hse.gov.uk/are you a first-aider)

So if you are a trained First Aider or a company with trained First Aiders in your workplace and usually wait for 3 years until the requalification is due, before updating First aid skills?

My advice is to book your annual refreshers now! To ensure you can give the most up to date 'best practice' in First Aid and Pre Hospital Care.
