It's results day! All results for the National Diploma OSCE have been issued via email to Learners. Don't forget to check your junk mailbox if you haven't received it. Providers should be contacted directly to discuss any results.

Ultrasonic bath testing can provide a good indication over time on whether your ultrasonic bath is still performing well. 📆

Performing the test once a month and keeping the foil sheets afterwards let you monitor the bath results 📊

Part of your dental nurse role and working in your decontamination room would require you to perform these tests.

Endodontics is a specialist area with specialist high tech equipment. Gone are the days when the dentist would tell a nurse that they are going to do a root filling and the dental nurse knows she’s going to be bored for hours on end as the dentist searches for a sclerosed canal or is filing away slowly with stainless steel files.

Now, with much better instruments (apex locators, digital radiographs, microscopes and other innovations) dental nurses are able to remain engaged throughout treatment; supporting the dentist to provide swift, effective care that is worlds apart from what could be achieved mere decades ago. The dental nurse is involved in helping with rubber dam placement, recording details of each tooth and canal, measuring and arranging sequences of nickel titanium instruments. Working with the dentist as a team is vital to ensure the procedure runs smoothly, while at all times being very aware that there is a human being attached to the tooth being treated.
