Coventry Chinese School is a supplementary school that provides Chinese language courses to children from the ages of 4 to 18, including GCSE and A level courses. We are a not-for-profit organisation that has been established in Coventry since the 1970s, and receives support from the Minority Group Support Services of Coventry City Council, National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education and and other local businesses. In 2010, Coventry Chinese School was accredited the Bronze Award in the Quality Framework for Supplementary Schools by the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education. We provide courses for children in both Cantonese and Mandarin, however we no longer provide Cantonese classes at beginners level. Our courses follow the national curriculum and provide children of Chinese origin an opportunity to learn their native language, culture and traditions. Children of non-Chinese and mixed Chinese background are also welcome. In addition to the learning opportunities, the School also provides an opportunity for the children to interact with other children to develop new friendships.

Our school will be closed on Sunday 15 Feb for the half term break. We will be hosting the Lunar New Year event to celebrate the Year of the Horse on Sunday 22 Feb for pupils and their families. Starting at the dining hall from 1-2pm followed by performances in the theatre from 2-4pm🧧🍊

Mandarin lessons at Coventry Chinese School will commence on Sunday 7 September at 1pm. We welcome all new joiners as well as the existing pupils!! As with all first day events, expect some confusion and disorganisation but hopefully things will fall into place once we have allocated all pupils to the right classes. There are 19 classes and more than 250 pupils attending so please be patient with our teachers and management staff ☺️🙏
