What a day!
On Sunday 14.06.26 we had a record amount of participants from our school attend. 23 Children, 12 Parent/Carers and 7 members of staff.
The Children's Mile is not a race, more about coming together and enjoying a walk, hop, skip or run around War Memorial. But we had 3 boys and girls who ran so fast they came in before hundreds of children who set off before them as we were part of the second wave. Well done 🤸‍♂️

Parent Carer Support Circle – a space to connect and feel less alone

If things have been feeling more challenging lately, you’re not alone.

This small, supportive group offers a space to talk openly, feel understood, and connect with other parents who "get it" - many of us have neurodivergent children or those with additional needs but all welcome.

It’s a guided, supportive space where we think things through together—so you can leave feeling clearer and with some practical ideas to take away.

We’re pleased to see numbers building for this group, with parents booking on from across Coventry. If you've been thinking about coming along, we'd love to welcome you.

Parent Support Circle Connect with other parents who understand what it's like to parent a neurodivergent child

Today the children will be coming home with a letter about this fantastic competition.

The CCFC Kit Design competition is returning for its 4th consecutive year! 🎉

Run by Sky Blues in the Community, Coventry Building Society Arena and Coventry City Football club, all primary schools with a CV postcode can enter.

Each of the 7 winning design pupils will receive some amazing prizes including:

🔷A fully guided tour of the Arena, a dressing room and pitch side on Tuesday 25th August 2026 at 11am.
🔷Your shirt design to be enlarged and displayed in the Family Zone for the 2026/2027 season.
🔷Your winning shirt to be featured in a matchday programme for the next season*

This week Year 6 have taken part in a positive body image workshop. We have then created our own positivity posters with what we like about ourselves, including the way we look. Our challenge now is to believe the words on the page and realise with confidence how amazing we are.

We are excited to announce Mrs Bird is now a Thrive Practitioner. This is something that will become a whole school approach and will really help our students.

This week for year 5 and 6.

We have been looking at David Attenborough for his 100th birthday and animals he has helped us to see. Each table had a different continent to research and to create a scientific journal log about illustrating different animals. We learnt about what David Attenborough had discovered in terms of species living there, how they live, fun facts about them and how humans might need to help them. We then had an Oracy discussion about his most famous quotes and their lasting impact.

As part of our Sir David Attenborough 100th birthday celebration week, children in Year 2 have been learning all about plastic pollution in the ocean. We have created some amazing artwork using repurposed materials – plastic bottles, bags etc.

Good luck to all the amazing Year 6 pupils at Pearl Hyde with your SATs this week! 🌟

You’ve all worked so hard and should be incredibly proud of yourselves. Remember to do your best, stay positive, and believe in yourselves. That’s all anyone can ask.
