James went to the French Embassy in London last week. Here is his experience:
"I entered this «mon mot français préféré» competition in April (my word was « formidable»). Although I didn't win, I was invited to attend a French Alumni event at the French Embassy in London, which I went to yesterday!
I got to have a very brief conversation (in French!) with Her Excellency, Hélène Duchêne, the French Ambassador to the UK. I also met Tatty Macleod, a super funny and talented French-British comedian. There were many French guests (the 2 that stood out to me were Pierre-Clément and Emmanuelle Bury), who gave some incredible advice for future careers abroad."

This date is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the last five decades and likewise to assess the current challenges facing the country and more broadly democracies around the world.
Listen to “Grândola, vila Morena”, by José Afonso, the final cue for the revolution.
