EU referendums: how they are won and lost with Prof. Ece Özlem Atikcan
We will be holding a fruitful presentation on EU referendums and their campaigns by an expert in the field, Prof. Ece Özlem Atikcan. Prof Atikcan is an associate Professor in Comparative Politics at the University of Warwick and Visiting Senior Research Fellow, at University College London. With Brexit in the headlines over the past years, it's worth examining other referendums in the EU. Prof. Atikcan focuses her research on EU referendum campaigning and has recently published "Framing Risky Choices: Brexit and the Dynamics of High-Stakes Referendums". This will promise to be a very interesting presentation on how and why referendums on EU issues are won and lost.
When? Wednesday, 3 March at 5pm GMT
Where? Microsoft teams

Haven’t signed up for today’s event with Rev. Prof. Keith Magee? We have the link for you!
In FIVE minutes we will be looking at democracy and government and the implications of an increasingly globalised and interconnected world - what does this mean in relation to class and poverty? Should we stop silo-thinking and all begin to see ourselves as global citizens?
If you would like to partake in an intellectually stimulating discussion with a former senior advisor to President Obama, not to mention the current senior advisor to President Biden - please tune in!
