A letter to our Dance Mums/Dads/Guardians…

When you send your little people to dance class; you’re investing in their future! ✨

You’re trusting in the school and the people behind it.

Those people invest their time and energy and skills into ensuring your little people get the best possible experience.

It’s about so much more than dance itself.

No we don’t just show up to dance class with our music ready to go, and no, we aren’t “money grabbers”.

We’re passionate beyond belief and we have to be to stick it out because it isn’t always easy!

We put ourselves under pressure to be the best for you and there are times when that pressure feels too much.

We have high standards and we want nothing but the best for you and your littles.

Why?

Because we know that dance plays a HUGE part in childhood.

Your kids will be making memories that will last a lifetime.

They will find friendships that will remain strong into adulthood.

They’re learning to be resilient.

Dance improves their confidence.

They are learning the importance of commitment and showing up - because if we don’t show up, we let others down but we let ourselves down too.

Quite often, your dance teachers are the hidden heroes of society.

Bold claim I know, but hear me out…

My dance teacher was a massive role model to me growing up.

She was a source of inspiration.

I looked up to her.

Attending dance class made me believe that I could do anything I put my mind to.

It made me realise that I wanted to make a positive impact on others.

It helped me escape reality for a little while and as a teenager especially, I often needed that space.

It made me see what I was capable of and it brought me out of my shy little shell.

I’m forever thankful to my parents for all they probably had to sacrifice to afford to send my sisters and I to dance classes.

God we know it isn’t a cheap hobby, but it’s our livelihoods and we value how valuable we are. We value ourselves and we want your kids to value themselves too.

Our venues can’t pay for themselves, nor can the team we employ or the regular training we provide and the endless insurances and licenses we have to pay.

We would love to be able to pay our bills with fresh air but we can’t.

Please know that you’re giving your kids an amazing head start by instilling so many more life skills into them than you can probably imagine.

For us to give our best, we have to be our best.

So by investing in your local dance school, you aren’t actually investing in the school itself; you’re investing in your child’s future and that looks pretty bright!! 🌈✨

What a day!! Our very first exam session!! Well done to each and every one of our dancers who took their exams today. You all should be so proud of yourselves! Words from the examiner “Wow they were all so good, so neat, tidy and disciplined”. What more could I ask for from our very first exam session as a school! From our 4 year olds up to our Inters, you were all fabulous today! Now we just wait for the results! Feeling extremely proud right now. Well done everyone! 👏🏼🤸‍♀️🩷

Tesco bag pack fundraising for Alton Towers = complete! ✅ what a successful day with this little dream team! 🩷

Today, our competition team dancers bag packed at Tesco to raise money for our Alton Towers performance trip in September! The children (aged 3-11) bag packed for 4 hours and represented our dance school brilliantly to the public. We had so many compliments from Tesco staff and the public saying that the children were so polite, had lovely manners and were so respectful, which made me so proud.

After a successful day of team building and packing lots of shopping, we managed to raise an incredible £615.74!!! 🤩 WOW!!

Thank you to all parents who stayed to supervise today and spent their Sunday supporting the children, and thank you to for letting us bag pack for you today. The staff were absolutely lovely and adored the girls. We are so grateful. What a successful day!! 🛒🩷

Yesterday, Cherish completed a 12 hour sponsored silence to raise money for our competition team to perform at Alton Towers later this year!! This is something that Cherish thought of herself and wanted to do out of the goodness of her heart. On top of successfully completing her challenge, she managed to raise £226!! Wow Cherish, I am so proud of you and the dedication and passion you have towards our dance school. What a wonderful little girl you are!

What an amazing day we’ve had performing in ‘This is our time’ show at the Albany Theatre!! Our school’s first ever time performing on a theatre stage and they all absolutely smashed it!! A huge milestone accomplished! We’ve had day full of dancing, fun, friendship building, laughter and support from every single child. The way these girls support and encourage each other is so special 🩷

We are so grateful to have had this opportunity and to be able to spend our love for performing with 6 other incredible dance schools. Every child had the time of their lives today and represented our school so well! They pushed through those nerves and performed absolutely beautifully. I couldn’t be prouder! Well done girls 🌟💖
