Getting to know our ambassadors...
Hi, I'm Nowel Yego from Kenya, currently studying MSc Sustainability and Environmental Management at Coventry University. I'm passionate about creating practical solutions that make sustainability part of everyday life.
βοΈ Why did you want to become a Student Sustainability Ambassador?
π¬ I wanted to help inspire positive environmental action and show that everyone can make a difference through small, everyday choices. It's also a great opportunity to learn from others while making a positive impact on campus.
βοΈ Which environmental issue matters to you most and why?
π¬ Sustainable agriculture and responsible consumption matter most to me. Coming from Kenya, I've seen how climate change affects farming communities, so I'm passionate about protecting both people and the environment.
βοΈ What is your top sustainability tip for other students?
π¬ Start small, carry a reusable water bottle or coffee cup, reduce food waste, and think twice before buying something new. Small habits add up to a big impact when we all do our part.
βοΈ What is one thing you enjoy doing outside university?
π¬ I enjoy crocheting, going for walks, and reading. They help me relax, recharge, and appreciate the world around me.

π Getting to know our new student ambassadors
Hi, I am Vaishali Kilaparthi from Vizag, India, currently pursuing MSc Accounting and Financial Management.
βοΈ Why did you want to become a Student Sustainability Ambassador?
π¬ I want to be part of the sustainability team encouraging students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily choices. With fast fashion trends, we often forget about the waste we produce, impacting the environment. Using this role, I want to educate myself, students and the community to care for present and future generations' environmental practices and their impact.
βοΈ Which environmental issue matters to you most and why?
π¬ The recycling issue matters to me as it reduces the negative impact on the environment. It allows us to reduce landfills.
βοΈ What is your top sustainability tip for other students?
π¬ Recycle the everyday waste in your accommodation by segregating into recyclable and non-recyclable items. Every small choice helps save the environment for present and future generations.
βοΈ What is one thing you enjoy doing outside university?
π¬ I enjoy strength training, especially new PRs. It helps manage my stress and promotes qualities like discipline and grit.
