🚰 Turn off taps in kitchens and toilets, reporting any faults via Planon
🫖 Only boil what you need for a cuppa
🚿 Shorten your showers to 4 minutes or less
🪥 Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth

Getting to know our final Student Ambassador...

My name is Elliot Itua, and I am from Nigeria. I am studying for a master’s degree in Sustainability and Environmental Management at Coventry University.

❔️ Why did you want to become a Student Sustainability Ambassador?
💬 I wanted to become a Student Sustainability Ambassador because I enjoy helping people understand how sustainability connects to everyday life. I also saw it as an opportunity to contribute to positive environmental change across the university.

❔️ Which environmental issue matters to you most and why?
💬 Climate change and its impact on vulnerable communities matter most to me. I am particularly interested in how better environmental planning and community involvement can help people prepare for challenges such as flooding and extreme weather.

❔️ What is your top sustainability tip for other students?
💬 Start with small habits you can maintain, such as reducing food waste, carrying a reusable bottle and buying only what you genuinely need. Sustainability does not have to be complicated to make a difference.

❔️ What is one thing you enjoy doing outside university?
💬 Outside university, I enjoy visual art and creating content, also having conversations about environmental and social issues. I also enjoy working on podcast ideas that connect sustainability with everyday topics.

My name is Lakshdeep Kaur. I’m from India, and I’m studying BSc (Hons) Finance and Investment at Coventry University.

❔️ Why did you want to become a Student Sustainability Ambassador?

💬 I wanted to become a Sustainability Ambassador so I could learn more ways to integrate sustainability into my daily life and encourage others to do the same. I enjoy being involved in initiatives that improve the community, and I care about the environment, which is why I want to help protect it.

❔️ Which environmental issue matters to you most and why?

💬 Resource wastage matters to me the most because it makes me uncomfortable to see things like food and water being wasted when so many people do not have access to them. I believe we should use resources more responsibly and find ways to reduce waste so they can benefit those who need them most.

❔️ What is your top sustainability tip for other students?

💬 My top sustainability tip is to make small changes that become everyday habits. Turn off lights and taps when they're not in use, recycle by separating food waste, and carry a reusable water bottle instead of buying single-use plastic bottles.

❔️ What is one thing you enjoy doing outside university?

💬 I enjoy baking, reading, and doing arts and crafts in my free time. I also like exploring new places and visiting art galleries. They help me relax and unwind after studying.

💬 I wanted to become a Student Sustainability Ambassador because I like helping people and wanted to do something positive for the university and the environment. I also want to gain experience in this field.

❔️ Which environmental issue matters to you most and why?

💬 I'd say climate change because it affects everyone. I think if we all make small changes, it can make a big difference.

❔️ What is your top sustainability tip for other students?

💬 My top tip is to switch off lights and unplug chargers when you're not using them. It only takes a few seconds and helps save energy

❔️ What is one thing you enjoy doing outside university?

💬 One thing I enjoy doing outside university is getting outdoors, whether that's going for walks, hiking, or trying different activities with friends.

💬 I wanted to help inspire positive environmental action and show that everyone can make a difference through small, everyday choices. It's also a great opportunity to learn from others while making a positive impact on campus.

❔️ Which environmental issue matters to you most and why?

💬 Sustainable agriculture and responsible consumption matter most to me. Coming from Kenya, I've seen how climate change affects farming communities, so I'm passionate about protecting both people and the environment.

❔️ What is your top sustainability tip for other students?

💬 Start small, carry a reusable water bottle or coffee cup, reduce food waste, and think twice before buying something new. Small habits add up to a big impact when we all do our part.

❔️ What is one thing you enjoy doing outside university?

💬 I enjoy crocheting, going for walks, and reading. They help me relax, recharge, and appreciate the world around me.
