Silence and Her Roommate (2021)

When Lola moves to university, Silence is a cute, winning guest who calms her as she navigates a new daunting life. But as Silence grows, Lola’s ties to the outside world start to suffer. Sooner or later, Lola will have to confront the elephant-sized creature in her room - how much Silence is simply too much?

The films from Term 1 short film competition (The Calm Before the Storm) will be finally screened! The screening is happening on the Thursday of Week 3, 27th January 2022. It's 2-hour long event from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The venue is Ramphal building R0.21, the main lecture hall.

Five short films will be played:
• A Trip to the End
• Before
• Some Nostalgia
• Quite Times
• Only Human
Also, BTS (behind the scene) and talk with each team is waiting for you!

There is no fee for the event, so feel free to bring your friends. Don't miss an opportunity to meet future directors, actors and script writers. Hope to see you at the screening🎬🖤

WFPS is having audio workshop this thursday at Oculus! It will be held on 6pm-8pm and will have two 1-hour sessions. Due to the limitation of equipment, only 10 people are available for each session, so sign up the form in the bio asap ;)
Also, people who are in charge with audio in the short film competition will be prioritised for the workshop.

We will talk about basic introduction into running sound for short films. This will cover how to operate a boom pole; different types of mics and their uses; and the importance of sound design in post production.

Since it is our first event, we have special a dress code: you need to dress up as a film genre (e.g. thriller, romance, comedy, fantasy and etc).

This week we are going to release the teams for the Film Competition and you'll get the script you're going to work on.
For this, we'll be answering questions about the film competition or about your role in your production team, etc.
You can also just jump in if you need any help with brainstorming, planning or managing your production.

Warwick Film Production is collaborating with Tedx Warwick for the first time! We will be recording their student salons and editing the video for them!!

So we bring you this WFPS member exclusive opportunity!! Being our member you will have the opportunity to video the event and even edit it! This is definitely something you want to tick off your bucket list!

We are recruiting videographers and editors with previous experience.

WFPS is having Directing Workshop on Friday 5th of November! It will be held at the Oculus OC0.01 from 3pm to 5pm. You need no prior experience in directing so come along and learn to bring your imagination come true! Also, if you will be producing a film a for our FILM COMPETITION it is highly recommended for you to come!

The workshop will be focusing on the direction of short films, held in two parts (you are welcome to participate on either both or just one session, it's up to you!)

Part II: Planning for production + working with your DOP: shot list, storyboard
