Meet one of our speakers for DevFest: Build With AI 👇

Vasudev Maduri is a Google Developer Expert in Google Cloud, Staff Data Engineer at Admiral Group, and someone who has spent years putting AI to work in real production environments. He’s delivered over 30 talks globally and has worked with organisations including Hitachi and Ford on data engineering and ML systems.

Curious about building AI agents but unsure where to begin? This session is your starting point. We’ll explore how to design agents that strike the right balance between human guidance and independent decision-making. You’ll learn the foundational concepts behind agent architecture, how to evaluate the tradeoffs between control and autonomy, and what it takes to choose the right tools—regardless of your technical background. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just stepping into AI, this session will equip you with the insights needed to turn ideas into intelligent systems that actually work in the real world.

💻 Bring your laptop for this one, you’ll be building as well as watching.

Meet one of our speakers for DevFest: Build With AI 👇

Michael Mekuleyi is a Google Developer Expert in Cloud and a Senior DevOps and Platform Engineer with over 7 years of experience building cloud-native infrastructure at scale. He specialises in Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud security - and has spoken at technical events all over the world.

At DevFest, Michael will be talking about architecting AI-native applications using Gemini and Google Cloud Run - covering how developers can integrate Gemini models into real backend services and deploy them as scalable, serverless workloads. Think text generation, intelligent search, automated decision-making, and how to move from a prototype to a production-ready system.

He’s also leading a workshop where you’ll get to put these skills into practice directly.

If you’re interested in how AI actually gets built and shipped - this is the one.

Meet one of our speakers for DevFest: Build With AI 👇

Dr Ziad Fakhoury is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Warwick, and one of the most interesting speakers we’ve had - because his work shows just how far AI has reached beyond the tech world.

Ziad completed his PhD through Warwick’s Centre for Doctoral Training in Modelling of Heterogeneous Systems, building computational frameworks for studying protein folding dynamics. His undergraduate research at Warwick explored machine learning and topological data analysis applied to protein structure prediction and drug repurposing. He’s currently supported by a NERC grant developing statistical models for atmospheric ice nucleation, working with collaborators at the University of Leeds and the Met Office.

At DevFest, he’ll be talking about how machine learning is being used to study and simulate proteins - an area with huge implications for medicine, drug discovery, and our understanding of biology. It’s a compelling example of AI being applied to genuinely hard, real-world scientific problems.

Come with an open mind - you don’t need a chemistry background to find this fascinating.
