We’re sharing three ways you can look after your mental health while studying with us at CU Coventry to mark the start of Mental Health Awareness Week 👇

☘️ Spend time in nature
It is important to disconnect from the internet and reconnect with nature. According to Mind, spending time in green spaces or bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit your mental and physical wellbeing.

Why not try taking a leisurely walk in one of the many parks around Coventry, such as the War Memorial Park or Quinton Park?

📈 Setting goals and priorities
As a student, balancing your coursework and your external responsibilities can be a challenge! However, setting goals can help reduce your stress and can help you plan your future better.

This is also a great practice to incorporate during assessments or deadlines to make sure you're on top of things. You can also reach out to our Success Coaches on campus to help you manage your studies and build a personal roadmap to achieve your ambitions. Learn more here:

🤝 Getting support
We have many teams who are here to support our students and provide advice and services that can help with a variety of situations.

All students have access to a Counsellor and Mental Health Adviser to help them cope more positively both with academic and general queries. To book an appointment, please email [email protected].

On International Nurses Day, we're celebrating the immense contribution nurses make to our communities.

If this is a field you would like to go into, our Nursing and Allied Health Professions Foundation Year gives you the skills and knowledge required to prepare you for a career as a healthcare professional.

As a part of this course, you will understand the key contemporary issues relating to the roles of health professionals. You will be taught by staff with a range of expertise across a number of health professions who will use their insight and experience to give you an understanding of the wide range of healthcare roles available.

You will be given an opportunity to begin to develop the skills and competencies that relate to the successful study of the Health Professions and their regulatory bodies such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Health and Care Professions Council.

Nadine Campbell, one of our former students, said: "This course has been amazing. The modules were very interesting, and it has helped to prepare me for my degree. Tutors used their real-life experiences when teaching which gave me better understanding of the modules.

"I now also understand the roles of different health professionals and was able to make an informed choice for my chosen career."

If you've been inspired by the stories you've seen on Nurses Day, visit to find out more about what we offer and to see how you could make a new start today.

What’s studying at CU Coventry really like?

At CU Coventry, we aim to give our students hands-on experience to help them with their employability after their studies. We provide this through our facilities, events, active learning approach, course trips, and engagement opportunities with industry and employers.

Take our recent Cultural Carnival event as an example. This event, hosted by our third-year Tourism and Hospitality students in collaboration with staff, volunteers and stakeholders, was put on as part of a practical assignment within their event management module.

This enabled students to gain practical experience in events management, providing them with invaluable hands-on skills that are essential for their future careers.
