I used to see my wife’s anger as an attack at me for something I had done or said. I would get defensive and shut down and try to make the situation go away. I would then aim to wait several days without brining it up to know that it had ‘been put to bed’ and forgotten. What I didn’t realise is that it wasn’t forgotten at all, and it was making matters worse being left unresolved. Your wife continues to get frustrated with you because when she raises a concern, you don’t address it. You take the approach of if they are ignored, they will go away. It’s why the anger is getting worse. Her emotions are ‘out of control’. So much emotion is being left unsettled that your wife is reaching her capacity. And you CONTINUE to ignore it. No woman is going to be calm and in her feminine with you, when all you do is shut things down and leave matters unresolved. When I started to actually listen to my wife’s frustrations and deal with things head on, things dramatically changed in our relationship. Unbeknown to me, by listening and hearing what she was saying, I also began to find out what I could do to make things better. Fast forward nearly 2 years and we’ve never been so connected and at ease with each other. I now look back and wonder why I didn’t do this sooner! It would have saved A LOT of s**t!
