Park Hill Primary School is seeking a volunteer governor to join our Governing Board.
We welcome applicants with experience in any of the following areas: Finance, Human Resources, Legal, IT, Marketing, or Procurement.
If you’re interested in contributing your skills to help shape the future of our school, please contact us — we’d love to hear from you!
Could you use and develop your business skills on our Governing Board and make a positive difference to children’s futures?
Our Board plays a critical role in the school's success and the success of our children. Governors set strategic direction, hold school leaders to account for improving performance, and make sure public money is well spent. In short, our Board helps provide the safe, happy environment where our children receive the best possible education.
Governors need to have sufficient levels of literacy and numeracy; good interpersonal skills, a willingness to learn and the inquisitiveness to question and analyse. The role can be demanding but hugely rewarding and the opportunity for personal development cannot be underestimated. Here at Park Hill we ask for the equivalent of around 10 days per year of your time (depending on your governance role) in which we hope you can develop a wealth of skills, together with the scope to acquire board level strategic leadership skills and experience of working as a senior team.
Full training and support for the role is provided. Working governors have the right to reasonable time off to carry out their public duties and some companies allow paid leave.
Park Hill Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and governors are required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Our Governing Board meetings usually take place 7 times a year on a Tuesday at 6pm. Further information about the school including its latest Ofsted report can be found via parkhillprimaryschool

Big Battery Hunt Update 🔋 ♻️
Park Hill have managed to collect an absolutely massive 23182 batteries!! Wow, so many batteries saved from landfill or waste to energy plants and recycled in the correct way!
The biggest collectors will get a little treat in next weeks assembly and everyone who donated will receive a certificate 😊
Hopefully this has raised awareness of the importance of recycling batteries properly. Please continue to recycle these correctly, taking them to your nearest recycling point, which can be found on the Recycle Now website.
A massive thank you to the Eco Ambassadors, children in my class and staff who have helped me count and move such significant amount of batteries ❤️

Park Hill will be taking part in RSPB's Big School's Birdwatch in Week 6 of Spring 1 10th - 14th February.
This will involve spending up to 1 hour outside, counting the birds that they see and identifying them. Teachers will let you know when each individual year group will be taking part. The children will need warm, waterproof clothes, wellies and binoculars if they already have them at home.
Thank you!
