One of the key components of a Well-Being Adventurers lesson is relaxation, but relaxation doesn't necessarily need to mean lying still.

We have a range of relaxation techniques that we teach children and Mindful Movement is one of those.

It's a peacock vibe today!

Well-Being Adventurers poses, breathing techniques and regulating movements are all nature based.

This pose would often be called 'dancer' but to me- it's a peacock!

Spot the bag!

I don't know why, but I love it that my resource bag is camouflaged on the school sofa!

It's the little things in life that bring me joy! πŸ™ƒ

Recently had a lovely time sharing lots of useful well being tools to a Maths and Science College.

The students are amidst all of their exams, so they really appreciated the time to relax, unwind and listen to their bodies :)

I love how I store my cards in zippy wallets on my desk, the colours make me feel happy and having them all neat there makes me feel organised and in control! 🀣

What small things bring you a sense of order?

Anyone else love stationary?

In one of our recent classes a child wanted to fold all of the scarves after the class (all 32 of them!).

⌚It was break time for them and me and I could have told them that they needed to go out and play.
πŸ‘žI could have told them that it wasn't necessary and rushed them to put their shoes on.

But instead they had a calm time putting some things in order, there was something very regulating for them about calmly folding in a quiet space.

Allowing space for them was a really small thing, but it bought them a lot of joy and it really did look nice to have all of the scarves folded!

What's in the bag?!

One of the ways that engagement and excitement are fostered in Well-Being Adventurers classes is through novelty.

The coloured bags that we use are fun ways to get the children:

* Curious... "What's in the bag?!"
* Motivated to participate- as they are more likely to get chance to 'pick from the bag' if they are actively joining in.

So, what do you think is in this bag?

Progression is important in all learning!

As an experienced educator myself, building on prior knowledge is really important in Well-Being Adventurers lessons.

Even though our lessons are fun, active and centered around well-being, educational theory is a key part of our approach.

In our lessons we lay firm foundations and build on what we know πŸ»πŸŒ‹
