🪥🦷 Oral Health Day 😁
At Forest Friends we do lots of fun activities to help promote good oral hygiene and help children understand why looking after their teeth is so important.
Did you know that as soon as your baby gets their first milk tooth you can take them to the dentist? Early visits help familiarise children with what to expect and make the environment feel normal and comfortable rather than something to worry about.
Because dental check-ups usually happen every 6 months, we support children in between visits by providing resources and activities here at nursery that help make trips to the dentist a positive experience.
Throughout the day the children have been exploring:
🦷 Tooth brushing demonstrations
📚 Stories and discussions about healthy teeth
🎨 Creative activities about foods that help keep our teeth strong
😁 Practising big “toothy smiles” and learning why brushing twice a day is important
Building healthy habits early helps children grow up feeling confident about taking care of their teeth.

Last week, to celebrate World Book Day, we were delighted to welcome one of our parents, who is also a talented author.
She kindly visited our Owls and shared a very special experience with the children by reading her own children’s book, Sleepy Guppy Says Bedtime Must Wait.
The children were captivated as they listened to the story being brought to life. To make the session even more engaging and memorable, she used a range of wonderful props that helped the characters and scenes from the book feel real and exciting. The Owls thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the props and following along with the story.
It was a great opportunity for the children to meet a real author, experience storytelling in a creative way, and celebrate the joy of reading together. A big thank you to our visiting author for making our World Book Day celebrations so special. 📚✨

A Big THANK YOU to all of our families and staff team for helping support National World Food Day last week, the children dressed up in their cultural clothes in return for a donation.
All the children held hands in the garden, showing their unity and support for fighting poverty.
Together we all talked about our favourite foods and the Owls shared their knowledge on that Food Banks are for helping people.
All bags and crates were dropped off at Coventry Foodbank today.

We had the lovely Ruth from Nature Makers today for our first session.
The children painted with berries and made their own forest creatures using clay and then using acorns, pinecones, seeds etc..
All the children were very engaged and spent their time making their own animals and helping each other with what to add.
We cannot wait for the next outdoor session.
