It's been a little while since Iast posted - we’ve been learning all about growth & life cycles! Last week, we dove into sunflowers at our reading stories, hunting for sunflower pebbles, and painting sunflowers with leaves and turmeric paint. The fun continued as we planted our own sunflower seeds, learning about the life cycle and what plants need to thrive. We also explored the garden centre, spotting bumblebees busily collecting nectar. Between sunflower-themed sensory play and some muddy garden fun, it’s been a beautiful reminder of how things grow

🦁✨ Meet Lenny the Lion ✨🦁
Hi everyone! 🤍
We’re so excited to introduce our newest little friend… Lenny the Lion! 🦁❤️
Lenny is our special adventure lion and each week he’ll be going home with a different child to see what fun they get up to with their family 🏡✨
He’ll be bringing his very own scrapbook along too!
Parents, we'd love you to add a little note, photos, or special memories from your time together – these moments will be so lovely to share back here at the setting🥹📖
We can’t wait to follow all of Lenny’s adventures and see the joy he brings to your homes 💛
Thank you for being part of something so special for the children 🌿✨

This week, we finally opened our exciting Bunny Hugs Hamper from our wonderful pen pals! We received it during the Easter holidays, but waiting until we were all together made it even more special. The children loved opening it, reading the thoughtful card from our friends, and discovering all the surprises inside. We had a cupcake-making kit, a fun pin-the-tail-on-the-bunny game, sweet treats, adorable stickers, and even personalised colouring sheets - such a thoughtful touch! The children even had a blast playing with the shredded tissue paper - it was all pure joy.
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to , and a big shout-out to for creating this wonderful Bunny Hugs pen pal exchange. This pen pal idea is so special - it builds connections, teaches kindness, and brings us all closer, even from afar. We’re truly grateful for the community we’re building - thank you again! ♥️🫶

☘️ Last week was full of excitement! On Tuesday, we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a sensory tray and some crafts. We also danced our hearts out with , doing Irish moves and having parachute fun! On Wednesday, we soaked up the sunshine at the park - daffodil spotting, painting, duck-watching, and of course, lots of playground fun (and a sunny picnic!). We also had a heartwarming chat about Ramadan and Eid, read a lovely book, and built mosques with wooden blocks while sharing stories of different faiths and places of worship. On Thursday, friends joined us for a fun playdate, and we wrapped up the week with an egg-citing Easter-themed session. What a week of joy and learning!🐣

🌸💕This Mother’s Day at Curious Cubs was simply heartwarming. We hosted a special afternoon tea for our wonderful mums, with a table full of scones (thanks to ), cupcakes & biscuits (thanks to ), sandwiches, and all the little treats that made it extra special. Throughout the week, the children created heartfelt gifts - painting canvases, making cards, baking biscuits, and practicing a sweet rendition of "You Are My Sunshine." Seeing the joy as the kids sang and gifted their mums was unforgettable💗. My assistant Aimée and I had such a lovely time planning and sharing these moments with all of you. The kind words and gratitude we received have truly touched us. To all the Cubs’ mums, we wish you the happiest Mother’s Day - you are the sunshine in their lives and ours! 🌞 🥰

✨ World Book Day 2026 ✨
Books are woven into every part of our setting, and today was a celebration of that love! From baskets to shelves to sensory trays, books are everywhere here- and our little ones arrived dressed as their favourite characters, books in hand! We spent the morning reading their beloved stories and ours, filling the day with language and joy.
We kicked off with Goldilocks and the Three Bears - always a favourite! After reading, the children made their own porridge, choosing fruit to go with it, building independence through real-life tasks. Later, we took our storytelling into the sunshine, exploring a Goldilocks sensory tray and enjoying free play. We ended the day at our local library’s rhyme time- reading, singing, and connecting with friends.
Each story is a building block for communication and language, the foundation for growth across all areas. The more we immerse children in books, the more we open up a world of learning, and we had so much fun along the way! ❤️🐻 📚 📖

This week at Curious Cubs, we’ve had a wonderfully busy time settling back after half-term - especially as we welcomed our new starter! We explored Chinese New Year together in a child-led way. The children engaged with Chinese-themed sensory play, explored traditional outfits, and read a book called "My Chinese New Year". This sparked lots of thoughtful questions - why do they clean, what do they wear, what foods do they eat? During lunch, this led to a rich discussion about our own cultures - what we eat at home and where different foods come from. The children loved trying stir-fry noodles with chopsticks- exploring new skills and tastes. We also watched a short Cbeebies clip all about Chinese New Year. Through it all, we’ve encouraged curiosity and respect for different cultures. A lovely learning journey all around! ❤️

🎨 🖌 Not long ago, we took creativity outdoors! We hung a clear shower curtain on the washing line and invited the children to large-scale painting. With paint on plates and big brushes in hand, they were immersed - experimenting with colour, movement, and self-expression. This activity engaged their senses, boosted confidence, and fostered collaboration. They had so much fun - we definitely plan to do it again soon. Art in the garden is always a hit!
