What's growing in our Curious Cubs garden & greenhouse? ๐
๐ฅ๐ฟ
Our little garden is absolutely thriving this summer, and we couldn't be prouder! ๐
Before the summer holidays, our little cubs loved getting involved by planting seeds, watering our vegetables and herbs, observing changes, and checking on their progress each day. It has been such a wonderful hands-on learning experience, helping the children develop patience, responsibility, and an understanding of how things grow. ๐ฑโจ
Here's what's growing beautifully at the moment...
๐ฅ Cucumbers
๐ Cucamelons
๐ถ๏ธ Lemon chillies
๐ Aubergines
๐ฅฌ Spinach
๐ฑ Radishes
๐ซ Red peppers (slowly turning red! โค๏ธ)
๐
Tomatoes
๐ฅ Carrots (sprouting nicely!)
๐ฅฌ Lettuce (just beginning to sprout)
๐ฟ Thyme
๐ฟ Oregano
๐ฟ Mint
We've loved watching our garden flourish, and we can't wait to harvest some of our homegrown produce soon! ๐
Which one would you be most excited to pick first? ๐

Goodbyes are always hard... ๐
Cub N has been with me since he was just one year old, and now, at four years old, he's getting ready to spread his wings and begin his exciting journey at school. Where have those three years gone?
Watching him grow from such a little boy into the kind, funny, confident and caring little person he is today has been an absolute privilege. I've been there through so many milestones, precious moments and memories that I'll treasure forever.
As the longest-attending child I've cared for so far, Cub N will always hold a special place in my heart. Although we'll still have a few Holiday Club adventures together before September, it already feels emotional knowing that this chapter is coming to an end. September just won't feel the same without his smiling face walking through the door.
To celebrate Cub N's time with us, we had our own little graduation party! ๐ We took photographs to capture the memories, enjoyed some delicious party food and celebrated with some yummy cake.
Cub N, thank you for letting me be part of your early years. It has been such a privilege to watch you learn, grow and flourish over the last three years. I couldn't be prouder of the amazing little boy you've become.
As you begin this exciting new chapter, keep being your wonderful self, keep smiling, keep believing in yourself and always shine bright. โจ I know you're going to do amazing things at school, and I can't wait to hear all about your new adventures.
Good luck, Cub N. You'll always be a part of the Curious Cubs family and will always have a special place in my heart. ๐๐

โ๏ธ A Wonderful End to Our Summer Term! โ๏ธ
What a lovely way to finish the term! ๐
Despite the hot weather (and a few early closures!), we made the most of the cooler mornings and packed our days with lots of fun, laughter and learning.
๐ Our Handa's Surprise focus was a huge hit! We enjoyed listening to the story throughout the week, using sensory trays and story props to retell the story, build language and develop our imagination. We also explored colourful fruit and vegetable sorting activities, mark making and plenty of child-led play.
๐ฆ Keeping cool was definitely a priority! We had lots of water play, paddling pool fun, splashing games and plenty of giggles... especially when the children teamed up to soak me and Aimee! ๐ We even enjoyed some delicious organic ice lollies to help us cool down.
Watching the children learn through play, explore with confidence and create so many happy memories has been the perfect way to end another fantastic term.
Thank you to all of our wonderful families for your continued support this year. We hope you all have a fantastic summer filled with sunshine, adventures and special family moments. โ๏ธ๐
See you all next term for more learning, laughter and fun! ๐

โจ Home Learning Packs โจ
Here is Aimee, my wonderful assistant, giving you a little look through some of the home learning packs we've been sending home with our children during the summer term. ๐ฅฐ
Each pack is carefully chosen to support a child's individual interests, strengths and next steps in learning. From nursery rhymes, colours and counting to fine motor skills and rhyming, every activity has been selected with that individual child in mind.
Our home learning packs are a lovely way to strengthen our parent partnership, encourage quality time together, and help families feel involved in their child's learning journey. Along with each pack, we send home a feedback sheet so parents can share how their child got on, what they enjoyed, and any lovely moments they noticed along the way.
Some children were enjoying their packs so much that they chose to keep them a little longer before swapping for a new one, and we absolutely love that! ๐ Seeing the excitement from both the children and their families has been so rewarding.
A huge thank you to all of our wonderful families for embracing this idea and supporting your little ones at home. We hope you enjoy seeing some of the resources we've been using! โจ

๐ฟโ๏ธ Our Annual Summer Stay & Play โ๏ธ๐ฟ
At the beginning of July, we were delighted to welcome our families to our annual Summer Stay & Play session. It was such a lovely morning, giving parents and children the opportunity to spend quality time together, explore our setting, and enjoy learning through play.
We were also incredibly lucky to welcome Ruth from Nature Makers, who led a wonderful summer pond-themed session. Ruth began by sharing the beautiful story Bog Baby, inspiring the children and their grown-ups to get creative together.
Using chalk, everyone designed their own magical ponds before decorating them with a variety of natural loose parts, including shells and other treasures. The creativity continued as each family made their very own Bog Baby using playdough and loose parts, with every creation being completely unique!
The session was filled with imagination, creativity, laughter and meaningful moments between parents and children. We loved seeing everyone getting involved, exploring nature-inspired activities together and making special memories.
Thank you to all of our wonderful families for joining us, and a special thank you to Ruth from Nature Makers for delivering such an engaging and inspiring session. We can't wait for our next Stay & Play! ๐

๐ At the beginning of July, we kicked off the month with a wonderful strawberry-themed adventure! ๐
We began our morning by reading a lovely story all about strawberry picking before heading outside to explore our strawberry-themed sensory tray. The children loved scooping, pouring and exploring the rice anf pasta, using a variety of tools to spark their imaginations and develop their fine motor skills.
Before setting off, we checked on the strawberries growing in our greenhouseโฆ later i discovered that our two juicy ripe strawberries had mysteriously disappeared! ๐ค We still haven't found the culprit, although there have been a few playful suspicions! ๐๐
Next, we headed to Malt Kiln Farm for a morning of strawberry picking. Each child had their own punnet to fill, carefully searching for the ripest, juiciest strawberries. We talked about how to identify when strawberries are ready to pick, why we leave the white ones to ripen, and how fruit grows. The children loved walking through the rows, making their own choices and proudly filling their punnets.
On our journey, we also had some lovely conversations about what we could make with our strawberries at home and who we would share them with. It was heartwarming to hear the children talking about taking them home for their families.
Back at the setting, we enjoyed some freshly picked strawberries together for our afternoon snack before everyone took a punnet home to share with their loved ones.
A fantastic day filled with hands-on learning, nature, conversation, and plenty of delicious strawberries! ๐โค๏ธ

It's been a little while since Iast posted - weโve been learning all about growth & life cycles! Last week, we dove into sunflowers at our reading stories, hunting for sunflower pebbles, and painting sunflowers with leaves and turmeric paint. The fun continued as we planted our own sunflower seeds, learning about the life cycle and what plants need to thrive. We also explored the garden centre, spotting bumblebees busily collecting nectar. Between sunflower-themed sensory play and some muddy garden fun, itโs been a beautiful reminder of how things grow

This week, we finally opened our exciting Bunny Hugs Hamper from our wonderful pen pals! We received it during the Easter holidays, but waiting until we were all together made it even more special. The children loved opening it, reading the thoughtful card from our friends, and discovering all the surprises inside. We had a cupcake-making kit, a fun pin-the-tail-on-the-bunny game, sweet treats, adorable stickers, and even personalised colouring sheets - such a thoughtful touch! The children even had a blast playing with the shredded tissue paper - it was all pure joy.
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to , and a big shout-out to for creating this wonderful Bunny Hugs pen pal exchange. This pen pal idea is so special - it builds connections, teaches kindness, and brings us all closer, even from afar. Weโre truly grateful for the community weโre building - thank you again! โฅ๏ธ๐ซถ
