Absolutely.

One of the biggest misconceptions about the 11+ is that it’s only for children who are top of every class or bringing home perfect school reports.

The reality is that every child is different.

Some children need more time to build confidence. Some thrive in exam situations. Others benefit from learning specific skills and question types that don’t always feature in the classroom.

Preparing for the 11+ isn’t about expecting perfection. It’s about helping your child become the best version of themselves and giving them the opportunity to achieve their potential.

If you’re wondering whether the 11+ could be the right route for your child, we’d be happy to have a chat - drop us a message. 💛

Hand over the planning for your next family day out!

Give your child a £50 budget and see what they come up with.

They’ll need to decide where to go, work out how you’ll get there, check prices, plan what you’ll do and make sure they don’t blow the entire budget on lunch.

You don’t even have to actually take the trip. The fun is seeing what they manage to plan.

It’s a simple way to get them researching, adding, budgeting and making decisions over the summer.

And if their £50 day out is better than anything you’ve planned, they might have just earned themselves a new job.

Six weeks away from school is a long time, so it’s normal for children to feel a little rusty when September comes around.

That doesn’t mean they need to spend the summer doing worksheets.

Reading together, cooking from a recipe, playing games, keeping a holiday diary or working out change in a shop all keep children using the skills they’ve built during the school year.

A little bit here and there is plenty.

Summer should still feel like summer.

We don’t think anything can beat an ice cream on a hot summer’s day!

So this National Ice Cream Day, we’re asking you one very important question...

What’s your child’s favourite ice cream flavour? 🍦

When parents think about tutoring, they often imagine hours of extra work on top of an already busy school week.

In reality, one focused session each week can help students build confidence, strengthen key skills and stay on top of what they’re learning in school.

Starting in September gives current Year 10 students the opportunity to begin Year 11 with support already in place, rather than waiting until the pressure of mock exams starts to build.

We’re now taking bookings for GCSE English tuition starting this September.

If you’d like to find out more, we’d love to hear from you.

Some children understand the work perfectly at home, but as soon as they’re in a test or exam, their minds go blank.

It’s more common than you might think.

Often, it’s not about ability. It’s about confidence, pressure and not knowing how to manage exam situations.

Tutoring isn’t just about learning the content. It’s also about helping children feel more confident, practise exam techniques and develop strategies they can use when they’re under pressure.

The aim is for children to walk into a test believing they’re ready, rather than worrying about getting it wrong.

If this sounds like your child, we’d be happy to chat about how we can help.

Summer is the perfect time to explore somewhere new... or rediscover somewhere familiar.

This week’s challenge encourages children to get curious about their local area by becoming a tour guide for the day.

It’s a fun way to build confidence, practise communication skills and learn something new, all while getting out and about.

Let us know which place your child chooses to showcase.

Starting Year 11 can feel like a big step.

The pace picks up, expectations increase and mock exams aren’t far away.

Having support in place from the beginning of the school year can help students settle into Year 11 feeling more confident and prepared.

Our one-to-one GCSE English tuition is tailored to each student, whether they want to improve their writing, strengthen their exam technique or simply feel more confident in lessons.

We’re now taking bookings for current Year 10 students starting in September.

This week’s Summer Challenge is to become an estate agent for the day!

Ask your child to imagine your home is going on the market.

Can they:
🏡 Write a property description?
📏 Measure the rooms?
📸 Decide which photos they’d take?
⭐ Pick out the best selling points?
💷 Decide how much they think it’s worth?

It’s a brilliant way to practise descriptive writing, measuring, problem-solving and creativity, all while looking at home from a completely different perspective.

If your child gives it a go, we’d love to see their property adverts!

It’s completely normal for children to have favourite subjects.

The challenge comes when they start believing they are “not good” at the others.

Sometimes all it takes is a little extra support to help them understand a topic, build their confidence and realise they can succeed, even in the subjects they find more difficult.

Tutoring isn’t about making children love every subject. It’s about giving them the skills and confidence to tackle the ones they find challenging.
