✨🙏 A • PRAYER • WE • CAN • SING 🙏✨

As part of our St Carlo Acutis Retreat Day, each class spent time reflecting on a line from a very special prayer, thinking about how, like St Carlo, we can offer ourselves to our Lord and use the gifts He has given us to do God’s work 🙏✨

Each class then brought their words to life through wonderful artwork, capturing their understanding of the prayer in their own creative and meaningful ways 🎨✨

But we didn’t stop there! Our beautiful prayer was turned into a joyful song, with Year 5 teaching the rest of the school how to sing it and adding some wonderful signs to help us express the words 🎶✨

It was such a joyful way to pray together — bringing our voices, our creativity and our faith together as one school community 🫶✨

This special prayer and song will now become part of our regular prayer and liturgy at St Gregory’s. What began as part of our retreat day has become something we can carry with us, returning to these words again and again as we seek to follow Carlo’s example and offer ourselves to God 🙏✨

A beautiful new way for our children to pray, sing and live out our mission: Learning and Growing in the Service of God 💙✨

✨✝️ ST • CARLO • ACUTIS • RETREAT • DAY ✝️✨

Today has been a truly special day at St Gregory’s as we welcomed the relics of St Carlo Acutis and spent time learning about the life of this inspiring young saint 🙏💙✨

We were delighted to welcome Sister Anna, a friend of the family of St Carlo Acutis, who brought a precious relic and shared Carlo’s life story with us, including the incredible miracles associated with him. Her stories helped bring Carlo’s faith and journey to sainthood to life for our children 🫶✨

Throughout the day, our children explored how Carlo used the gifts God gave him to share his faith and make a difference to others. Through activities, thoughtful discussions, prayer and creativity, they reflected on how they too can answer God’s call and use their own gifts for good 💙✨

We came together as a whole school for prayer and liturgy, and children also had the opportunity to spend quiet time praying in the presence of the relics. It created a truly beautiful and prayerful atmosphere across our school 🙏✨

Carlo’s message to be “originals, not photocopies” was a wonderful reminder that God has made each of us unique, with our own gifts and purpose 🤩✨

What a privilege to share such a special day together — one filled with faith, prayer, learning and inspiration, and a day that will remain in our St Gregory’s memories for years to come 💙✨

This week, Reception have been busy exploring sorting! 🔎✨

The children have been investigating a range of objects and learning how to sort them into different groups using size, colour, shape and type 🤩✨

We have loved seeing the children explain their thinking and talk about why they think each object belongs in a particular group 💭✨

A wonderful week of hands-on mathematical learning, where curiosity, talk and discovery have been at the heart of our learning! 💙✨

Year 2 had a truly special retreat day learning about the life of St Carlo Acutis 💙✨

Through prayer, reflection and a range of activities, the children explored Carlo’s deep faith, his kindness and his love for Jesus, thinking about how they too can use the gifts God has given them to make a difference to others 🙏✨

It was a beautiful day filled with faith, friendship, learning and moments to stop, reflect and grow together 🙏✨

Our Nursery children went on a lovely walk to explore God’s wonderful creation all around us! 🌍✨

As we walked, the children noticed so many beautiful things — the bright sunshine and blue sky, colourful flowers, birds, butterflies, trees and even the people we saw along the way. 🤩✨

Back in Nursery, the children used their creativity to create their own beautiful pictures inspired by the things they had seen 🎨✨

A wonderful opportunity to notice, wonder and give thanks for the world God has created for us 🙏✨

Mrs Swiadek’s House & Family Group created a beautiful Rosette of Strength, taking time to recognise their own strengths and celebrate the wonderful qualities they see in one another 🌟✨

It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on what makes each of us unique, while recognising the strength that comes from supporting, encouraging and celebrating one another 🫶✨

Year 5 are so proud of their RE learning so far! 💙✨

They have worked incredibly hard to create meaningful pieces of work that demonstrate their understanding, while also thinking about how their learning connects to their own lives and experiences 🫶✨

The children have also been developing their oracy skills through thoughtful discussions, sharing ideas, listening carefully to one another and confidently exploring different perspectives 🗣️✨

We’re so proud of the thought, effort and reflection they are putting into their learning 💙✨
