🐕-🚶‍♀️03/05/26 Carnie Runs Sunday CaniHike 🐕-🚶‍♂️

After the beginners session we were joined by 9 adults and dogs fromthe Carnie Runs group for a 4 mile social hike.

It remained overcast with the odd bit of drizzle but was a great temperature for the dogs, it was the first time we've seen Nikki & Alfie join the group for a while but he did very well to walk calmly in the group and not constantly bark at everyone.

Neil's daughter Poppy also joined us and hiked Chloe, she did amazing looking out for chloe checking frequently if she needed water and making sure she wasnt over exerting herself 🥰 it was a pleasure to let her work with Chloe, they had some little Runs together too and Chloe listened to her perfectly.

Buddy has now found his group of friends and was super excited to see kerry & Jai inparticular, hes took quite the shining to his red fox pal ❤️

Vicky once again braved the 2 pocket rocket spaniels, but they actually both did really well to not pull too hard and hike quite calmly, they are your typical spaniels that just want to go 🤣

🐕-🏃‍♀️11/04/26 Carnie Runs Saturday Social Run 🐕-🏃‍♂️

It was a little drizzly, but meant we didnt see anyone out on the trails, bar one dog walker.

The dogs all got on brilliantly, Sasha did super running with Karen, as she hasnt been in harness much the past few months, due to Jo being injured, but she did really well.

Buddy was super excited to see his new bestie Jai and have a little bounce and play bow, before running.

Cleo made the perfect partner for Sasha and they both ran brilliantly for Karen. It was lovely to see Winnie & Django running, well around each other too.

Percy led the route as its his favourite thing to do, but he also constantly looked over his shoulder to check we were all still following and all still there as a group. He just loves running with his friends. It was so good to have 4 reactive dogs, getting on so well in a group of 7 dogs 🐕

After missing the Canicross Midlands race weekend thanks to illness (3-day migraine 🤢), we were invited out for a steady social run with some of our regular training crew 🐾

Buddy was so excited to see all his pals—especially Jai the red fox (play mode ON 😅)—but once we got moving, he switched on and focused brilliantly, passing dog walkers like a pro. Honestly, he had the BEST morning, and I love seeing him so happy running with his gang ❤️

The girls all have super steady, well-handled dogs, so I asked if they’d help me with some short interval sprints for Rip—getting her used to running around other dogs and practicing overtaking.

She smashed it 💪 Even hit 5:15/mi on her sprints!

She passed the big boys beautifully—no issues at all. She did get a bit excited about Yara (same size, only other girl 😄), but she listened and passed without trying to play 🥰

Huge thanks to Yara for being the perfect “stooge” and to Django & Jai for being absolute gentlemen letting her fly past 😍

Really excited to keep building her canicross training—next step: running in a pair and joining the gang properly 🐕‍🦺✨

🐕-🏃‍♀️Saturday Social - 28/03/26🐕-🏃‍♂️

☀️A lovely start to this morning, a little chilly in the wind, but perfect temperatures for the dogs.🌅

5 of us tackled the Warwickshire trails on a 10 mile loop, we encountered multiple pheasants, lots of sheep and some roe deer along the route.

All the dogs ran brilliantly together and seemed so happy to be out with their pals.

Well done everyone, a great way to start the day and the weekend🐾🐾

Still buzzing from our achievement Saturday. We may not have been the quickest, we may have got lost a few times, but we had so much fun and the best day out canicrossing together.

17 hours solid 💪🥰

⛰️🌄 CaniTrail 50 Miles 🌄⛰️

Saturday 21st March 2026, 7am — 12 of us set off on our toughest challenge yet.

50 miles of Welsh hills, peat bogs, streams, sunshine… and more hills 😅

Buddy started full of excitement 🐶
Straight into puddles within the first 5K — no surprise there 😂

First climbs were tough, and the peat bogs were relentless… every “solid” step ended up knee-deep 🤣

Checkpoint 1 with Euan — snacks, quick reset, back out. Sheep tried to follow us for a bit, but Buddy was perfect 🐑

Gawr Forest was brutal — heat, no shade, constant climbing 🥵
We kept detouring for water to cool down 💧

Huge respect to the motocross riders who stopped and walked past us 🙌

By checkpoint 2, the heat hit Buddy, so he had a rest in the van ❄️
I carried on solo… powered by sweets

Checkpoint 3 — he was still snoozing, so I pushed on. Straight into the steepest hill at 32 miles 😅
Then surrounded by curious cows… glad Buddy wasn’t there 🐄

As it got dark, heading towards the wind farm, I got a bit lost. Everything looked the same — ended up hopping a fence to get back on track 😅

Picked Buddy up again for the final 10 miles 🐶🔥 He was fresh… I was not 😂

Last climbs felt endless, and Llantrisant Forest had me lost again 👀 Very glad I wasn’t alone with all the noises in there!

Then finally — the lights of Llanharan ✨
Home straight.

Ran into the village at midnight, pushed the last bit…

51 miles. 17 hours 11 minutes.

So proud of Buddy 🐾❤️
Every mile, every session — worth it.
We did it 💫

🐕-🏃‍♀️Canicross Midlands – Valentines Massacre 10km🐕-🏃‍♀️

📍 Alcester 📅 14/02/2026

While the girls enjoyed a chilled morning with Euan, the boys and I headed to Alcester for the first ever
❤️Valentines Massacre 10km❤️hosted by Canicross Midlands — and what a way to spend Valentine’s Day! 🐾

This was the first time the event had been held and also the first time we’ve run some of the farmland sections on this course, which made it all the more exciting. From the off, it had everything you’d want from a proper canicross race — punchy climbs, thick mud, puddles galore and some very “character-building” downhills.

There was one downhill in particular that definitely got the heart rate up (and not just from running!). Even in my mudclaws it was super slippy, so I had to keep the boys in close and take it steady to stay upright. Controlled chaos at its finest!

I did manage to make things interesting right from the start by missing the very first arrow… 😆🥴 Not my finest navigational moment, but it certainly added to the adventure! Thankfully we quickly got back on track.

Buddy absolutely smashed the overtaking — confident, focused and running strong. We did have a brief tangle with a tree when Benji spotted a dog standing near a marshal point 😐 but huge credit to Buddy for ignoring the distraction and passing cleanly. Teamwork at its best.

Then came the final downhill. A twisty, windy section that needed proper concentration. Benji was working beautifully in his steady, navigating the turns like a pro — and then suddenly… dead weight.

I glanced over my shoulder to see Buddy “woogling” his way down the hill behind me rather than actually running it 🤣 Just sliding along for the ride!
From the sidelines Ruth shouted, “It appears you have a flat tyre!” which absolutely finished me 😂

To make it even worse, my GoPro had died right before that moment — and honestly, it would have been comedy gold on camera. Typical!

It was such a fab day out — tough, muddy, technical and full of those moments you couldn’t make up. Exactly the kind of race that leaves you exhausted, filthy and grinning from ear to ear.

Here’s hoping this becomes a regular fixture ❤️❤️
