Our Explorers have been diving into the wonderful world of sea animals ๐Ÿฆญ๐ŸŸ The excitement as they gathered around the tray to see what had been set up and the engagement throughout was brilliant ๐ŸŒŠ

As we named the different creatures together, some of Our Explorers were already repeating words back like "seal" and "fish" - such a wonderful milestone in their communication and language development ๐Ÿ’›

Following the children's own interests, Our Investigators have been holding their very own gymnastics class ๐Ÿคธ

Moving their bodies in all sorts of wonderful ways, the children have been developing their larger physical skills alongside some brilliant problem solving and teamwork too ๐Ÿ™Œ

Our Discoverers have been discovering the wonderful world of Makaton ๐Ÿค Exploring new ways to communicate with friends and those around them.

The engagement was just brilliant, with the children copying the physical actions and sounds with such enthusiasm and joy ๐Ÿ™Œ

Learning that communication comes in many beautiful forms is such a valuable lesson for our little ones! ๐Ÿ’›

Messy play with a sparkly twist as Our Explorers explored shaving foam and sequins ๐ŸŒŸ

The children carefully searched through the foam to find the hidden sequins (brilliant for hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills!) and as confidence grew, little hands began diving in to feel the texture for themselves ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

This week we have been exploring cultures, similarities and differencesโ€ฆ discovering what makes each of us wonderfully unique ๐ŸŒ

Through drawing and mark making the children explored different shapes, with lots of brilliant mathematical language woven naturally into play ๐ŸŽจ We also shared stories about our families and past experiences - celebrating each child's own sense of belonging and the people who are special to them ๐Ÿฅฐ

Every child is different and every child is brilliant ๐Ÿ’›

Our Discoverers are superstars when it comes to looking after themselves. By encouraging self-serving at every meal and snack time, the children get to make their own choices, show their preferences and develop their independence in the most natural way! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ•

British Values have been at the heart of our learning this week and Our Investigators have formed their very own Investigators Council ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Cups of water at the ready (this was thirsty work!) The children shared their ideas, made up their own rules and told us exactly what they'd like more ofโ€ฆ

๐Ÿฆ• More dinosaurs

๐Ÿ› More staff on the slide

๐Ÿฅพ More trips to the park

๐Ÿž More toast at breakfast

The children also shared what they love about preschool and the next meeting is already in the diary!

Our Investigators have been exploring music, rhythm and emotions ๐ŸŽต Sitting in a circle, the children kept a steady rhythm patting their knees, shared their names and expressed how they were feeling in that very moment. We explored a range of emotions - from happy and sad, to worried, angry and shocked! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜

The children then took to their feet and showed us how they might dance each emotion - happy dances, stomping angry dances and shy worried shuffles ๐Ÿ•บ

Continuing our celebration of National Outdoor Nature Week, we took our love of patterns outdoors ๐ŸŒฟ ๐ŸŒธ

The children hunted around the garden for natural treasures before sticking them onto masking tape on the wall to create their very own nature pattern strips ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒผ

There was brilliant turn taking, problem solving and some wonderful open ended questions along the way - all filled with that sense of awe and wonder that the natural world brings so beautifully ๐ŸŒ

Following on from our outdoor adventures, the fun continued with some wonderfully messy mud pie making ๐Ÿฅง

Using natural materials collected on our nature walks, the children got stuck in with mud, water, grass, flowers and barkโ€ฆ rolling, mixing and creating their very own masterpieces ๐ŸŒธ

As they played, we explored mathematical language through different sized bowls and spoons, chatted about textures and used brilliant vocabulary - even building sentences with "and" and "because"! ๐Ÿ’ฌ

We even added a little role play market stall into the mix, with the children deciding how much their mud pies might costโ€ฆ ยฃ1 please ๐Ÿ’ฐ
