Our Raindrops children have been using their problem solving skills to fit jigsaw pieces into inset boards. The children were also encouraged to take turns and use their knowledge of animals to make the animals sound ๐ ๐ฆ ๐
Inset board jigsaws are a fantastic way to support a childโs development through play. They help build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving abilities and concentration. Children achieve a wonderful sense of achievement as they complete each piece ๐ซ

Dough disco ๐บ
This week some of our sunshine children took part in a dough disco! This is a creative way to enhance childrenโs hand strength and skills for writing and fine motor tasks.
As children squeeze, pinch, roll, stretch and mould the dough, they strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers. These movements improve hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity and control, all of which are essential for early writing, cutting with scissors and self-care skills such as doing up zips and buttons.
Why not have a try at home? Get out the play dough, turn on the music and call out different ways to manipulate the dough!

The rain hasnโt stopped us diving into some exciting activities this week โจ
The toddlers have been taking part in the big green week, using recycled materials to get creative and add different features to their play. They have used boxes to play sorting games and also created a large recycling truck โป๏ธ
The Raindrops children have been using problem solving skills at group time Looking for specific items hidden under stacking cups.
They have also been using physical skills over in the art room scooping, filling and emptying containers and searching for mini beasts in a sensory tray.
The preschool and sunshine children took part in a following instructions game out in the garden followed by a dance lesson with our talented teacher Tilly ๐
They have also been using the train resources to encourage number skills. The children had to match train numbers to the numbers on the stations.
Over in the art room the children had the chance to make fruit salads, talking about the smell and texture of the fruits and then take them home to taste them ๐โ๐ฉ ๐ ๐ฅญ

Todayโs visitor was one of our very own ABC parents who came to chat to the children about her job - A doctor ๐ฉบ
Caitlin used a doll to model some of the equipment used at check ups such as a stethoscope and thermometer. The children gained some hands on experience having a go and seeing how the items are used.
Caitlin spoke to the children about things that keep us safe and healthy such as suncream, a helmet, antibacterial soap and Calpol.
