🌸🌺🌷🌼May is the Month of Mary🌼🌷🌺🌸
Pope John Paul II said, "Today we begin the month dedicated to Our Lady, a favourite of popular devotion. In accord with a long-standing tradition of devotion, parishes and families continue to make the month of May a 'Marian' month, celebrating it with many devout liturgical, catechetical and pastoral initiatives!"

Post your prayer and devotions in the comments below and/ or share this post on your facebook/ instagram newsfeed.

In May, we express our devotion to Mary through:

🌸 Litany of Loretto
🌺 The Regina Coeli
🌸 Medals
🌺 The Rosary
🌸 May processions
🌺 Marian hymns

Today, on the feast of our patron Saint George, may the 🔥Holy Spirit strengthen our hearts to receive courage to walk in faith and trust in the loving kindness of God in everything we face.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿St. George is the Patron Saint of England - and Catalonia, Moscow and Aragon - but you may be surprised to learn that legend has it he was born and died in Coventry.

So the city has more reasons than most to celebrate its very own Coventry Kid during the annual St. George's Day celebrations.

History or legend? Find out more here…

🐉🗡️Broadgate Fun today
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Those in Broadgate on Tuesday 23 April from 12pm – 2:30pm can enjoy a jig with the Coventry Morris Men and ‘Smoked the dragon’ 🐉who invites all young knights, warrior maidens, princes and princesses to join them.

📸Make sure not to miss out on a photo with St George too!

🤲🏽The Collect🤲🏽
God of hosts,
who so kindled the fire of charity
in the heart of Saint George your martyr,
that he bore witness to the risen Lord
both by his life and by his death;
grant us through his intercession, we pray,
the same faith and power of love,
that we who rejoice in his triumph
may be led to share with him
in the fullness of the resurrection.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Vocations Sunday 2024 21/04/2024

🐑The Fourth Sunday of Easter is Vocations Sunday or Good Shepherd Sunday. 🐑

This year, it is on Sunday 21 April, which marks the 61st Anniversary of World Day of Prayer for Vocations. We will hear in the Gospel "Jesus said: 'I am the Good Shepherd'."

Read the Papal Message for Vocations Sunday 2024: “Called to sow seeds of hope and to build peace”.

Read the Pastoral Message from Archbishop Malcolm McMahon, the Chair of the National Office for Vocation.

The Second Collection in our churches over the weekend 20/21 April is for the Clergy Training Fund, which pays for the formation of future priests and deacons for our Archdiocese.

The Diocesan Vocations Office asks all to pray for an increase in vocations for the Archdiocese.

🤲🏽Diocesan Prayer for Vocations
Heavenly Father,
we ask you to send labourers
into your harvest.

Inspire, in the hearts of your people,
vocations to the priesthood, diaconate
and religious life.

Bless our families with a spirit of generosity,
so that those whom you call
have the courage to give themselves
to your Church in faith.

Through Christ our Lord.
