I’m getting in touch to share a short survey we are running with the Open University, exploring why families are choosing elective home education and flexi-schooling, and what support they would find most useful. I’m working as a research assistant to Lord Nigel Crisp on this project, supporting the work closely with the wider group.
With the deadline on Monday 4 May, we’re keen to increase responses and would really appreciate your help in sharing it with your networks. The findings will help inform policymakers and highlight lived experiences and best practice within home-educating and flexi-schooling communities.

If you have not already, please sign and share this petition with anyone who is concerned about state surveillance of their children. If we can get this past 10,000, the government have to respond. Even better if we can get it higher than that. It only has about a week left to sign it (This petition was submitted by a home educated child).

We think its proposals would infringe on children’s privacy and parental rights, especially as elective home education is not in itself a safeguarding risk.
