Hi, I’m Hannah and I have been in the fitness industry for about 20 years, running my own personal training studio in Earlsdon, Lean Body Vision.

11 years ago I decided to add another string to my bow and become a sports massage therapist. I then went on to get my level 4 qualification and now teach the Level 3 course at Fire & Earth Massage Academy.

I love all things health and fitness and taking my gorgeous dog Cooper away in the camper van for some coastal walks and relaxation.

Meet the team - Tanya

Hi, I’m Tanya and I began my journey as a sports and remedial massage therapist back in 2003. I came to it quite by accident, doing a part-time course in Leamington. That was it. I was hooked!

In 2008 Fire & Earth was born, and since has successfully opened up multiple clinics across the Midlands, as well as the academy, enabling us to share the knowledge we have gained over the years. Starting this academy was a real dream for me and we are so proud to serve you all.

As well as being passionate about therapy, I am passionate about giving students the right start they need to make their lifestlye business a reality. It’s really important to me that we give you the skills needed to really make a go of your new found passion - just like I did.

Helping people, always learning new anatomy and techniques is something I enjoy, so I decided to become an Osteopath. I am currently in my third year of university and hope to qualify in 2025.

Outside of work I love to be outdoors, walk my dog, go for runs or kayak, and get away on holidays as much as I can.

Meet the team 👩‍👧‍👧

Hi, I'm Georgina! I hold a first class honours degree in Sports Therapy and have been working for Fire and Earth for over 3 years. In the clinic I offer injury assessment, individualised rehabilitation programmes, electrotherapy and dry needling skills to the clinic.

During the teaching weekends I teach on the Level 4 Sports Massage course and thoroughly enjoy getting into the detailed anatomy.

For my learning this year, I will be taking part in an intensive Scar Tissue course to be able to offer up to date treatments on issues such as C-Section recovery and surgical adhesions.

I love being outdoors and aim to get a hike in the diary somewhere new at least every other month.

Meet the team!

Hi! I'm John. I am a Level 5 sports, deep tissue and remedial massage therapist with over 13 years experience. I teach on the Level 3 Sports Massage course and am the Centre Manager. 📚

I love helping students fulfil their desire to find a new, rewarding career. I enjoy using interactive, hand-ons tools to teach the more tricky anatomy and physiology side of the course. If you have any concerns about the theory, then please don’t - we will support you through the course from start to finish.

Away from Massage, I enjoy being outside and cant wait to travel to Borneo this year. I also love live music! I am hoping to get lots of gigs in this year including Manic Street Preachers and Suede.

Today is the start of our second weekend of our Level 4 Sports Massage course. We're excited to see everyone again!

We know how important getting our vitamin D is at the moment so why not get outside and go for a run or a walk. We know the weather might not be great but it's definitely worth wrapping up and getting out the house for a few minutes at least :-)

After qualifying as a sports massage therapist one of the options is to go on to become a sports therapist.

The aim for a sports therapist is to try and return their client back to their full potential, whether that’s general day-to-day life or in sport. This can be through a combination of massage and rehabilitation. A sports therapist is trained to assess diagnose and rehabilitate most injuries.

We have a mix of both sports massage therapists and sports therapists on our Fire & Earth team.

Ouch..cramp! You know it, jumping up to walk around trying to stop the cramp in your toes! :-)

Or the worst, cramp in your hamstring..so painful!

As sports massage therapists we get asked about cramp quit a bit.

There is one thing you can do to help cramp, and that's get the right amount of hydration and minerals in.

There are 4 natural minerals that can help with preventing cramps. These are potassium (bananas) sodium (salt) calcium (dairy products or fortified soy / almond milk) and magnesium (nuts). Try increasing some of these to prevent the dreaded cramp!

August the 8th is International Cat Day, and it’s not hard to see why our little feline friends hold such a special place in our affections.

Funny cat videos, memes and cute pictures of cats are some of the most viewed content online, which just confirms our obsession with the furry things. While research shows that watching funny cat videos online can boost a person’s energy and create positive emotions, according to the experts owning a cat can also be good for your heart. Petting a cat is said to reduce stress levels, and with people having such hectic lives, they can be an easier and less demanding choice of pet than owning a dog.

If you ask me i’d say that cats have more than earned their extra treats and cuddles this International Cat Day, so go on, show your appreciation to that moggy in your life or buy that extra pack of cat food at the shops to donate to your local rescue centre as a little thanks to our four legged pals!
