Lord Nelson Sixth Form College seeks to provide an outstanding education to its students in preparation for University or employment. Following the opening of the Academy, the number and range of Post 16 courses that are offered has been enhanced year on year as has the number of teachers available within the school.The Academy offers a traditional route of 4 A Level subjects, a more vocational ro

ute of combining A Levels and BTEC courses or fully vocational through the Childcare & Education course, Business Diploma or the Beauty Therapy NVQ. The Academy has listened to the needs and requirements of the local area and in return has enhanced its facilties. We have recently moved into a brand new building which has extensive facilities. The Sixth form is situated in a modern building away from the main school with it's own Common rooms and ICT study rooms. We have two purpose built training salons which house the Beauty Therapy Department and our outstanding Childcare Department has been allocated new classrooms and ICT facilties. The Academy has spent just short of £1,000,000 developing the ICT facilities in the new school, with the Sixth Form facilities being of utmost importance. We want our students to achieve great things and to do so we must provide them with the teaching and facilities to match our expectations. All students in the Sixth Form follow a business dress code and remain on the Academy site , using their non contact time to focus on independent study. All students can complete the Extended Project Qualification in year 12, which is a piece of research and written coursework worth the same as an AS Level, that prepares students for the rigours of research at university.We sincerely hope that you choose to join us at Lord Nelson Sixth Form and we can promise that we will endeavour to provide you with the very best education with the very best facilities. Louis, in Year 12, won a bid to the Cheerleading Worlds in Florida next year, with his Level 5 cheer, MI5, Brave Allstars. This means they will be representing England in this division! Louis is an incredible cheer coach, leading the team like a true professional. We are very proud to have a world class athlete in our Sixth Form!
