Southbourne Club: Monday 1900 - 2000 and Friday 1915 - 2015

The start of this week means only one thing - grading is this weekend!
Our club is open 1800 - 1900 Monday and Thursday as normal so come along to get as much practice as you can before the big day!

Friday is here folks and after a good turn out in the dojo on Monday…let’s aim for an even better one today. This month we have our first grading under Renshi Pete Norris which will be on 22nd March. Forms will be handed out in tonight’s lesson. Also this month we will be promoting ‘Getting back into the dojo for yesteryear students’ For anyone that trained under the late Great Kyoshi Bob Caruana, Kyoshi Rob Caruana or Renshi Nick Jordan we will be offering 2 wks of complementary free lessons for those wishing to return to the dojo. Lets get training!
Friday is here, and tonight's lesson is open to all OSSKA students that are of the grade of brown belt and above only. Last month’s lesson had a great turn out…let’s make this months even better.

This fridays lesson is the last of the month and dedicated to Brown belts and above only - based at the Southbourne club. 1st kyu and below will be taught be Sensei Dave while the Dan grades will be taught by Renshi Pete.

Meet the team!

Chief Instructor of O.S.S.K.A Karate, 6th Dan Peter Norris - known to everyone as Pete.
He started his Karate journey at 19, got his first black belt in 1991, and has been training and teaching ever since. He's been to the world championships as assistant coach for E.N.S.K.A in Hungary in 1994 and Las Vegas in 2004 where they came back with trophies.
He was originally under KUGB, and then spent over 30 years with E.N.S.K.A which was also an official Martial Arts Association. When that came to an end, Pete and others became part of O.S.S.K.A (Original Southern Shotokan Karate Affiliation).

Pete teaches at the Cosham Club mainly, alongside 5th Dan Ken, which operates on a Monday and Thursday 1800 - 1900.
O.S.S.K.A Cosham is known to be inclusive of everyone and can accommodate disabled teaching.

Pete and the O.S.S.K.A team encourage everyone to come along and join - children and adults are more than welcome 😊

Just a reminder that we will be open for training next week during half term on Monday & Thursday 6-7pm @ Cosham particularly if you need preparing for the grading in March! 🥋

Tonight at OSSKA Southbourne club there will be black and brown belt training tonight. Start time 7:15pm till 8:15pm. Looking forward to seeing you all tonight. Wrap up warm and stay safe out there…it’s a tad wet. OSU🥋🥋

Good morning all, it’s a very wet morning start today but let’s not let that dampen our training for tonight. Fridays lesson will be BROWN belts and above only. This is something we are introducing to be once a month and for advanced training to be taught. Hope to see you all tonight and remember to bring your insurance forms in this week please.
