Arat is a cheerful little boy who reminds us every day that effort and consistency truly pay off.

Through his speech therapy sessions, he has made remarkable progress in recognizing and distinguishing colours, letters, and sentences — skills that once represented a significant challenge for him.

His enthusiasm for learning, his beautiful smile, and his perseverance fill us with pride every day.

We are honoured to continue supporting him on this wonderful journey of growth, celebrating each achievement and strengthening his abilities step by step.

This week, we celebrated a very special milestone that we have been eagerly awaiting: Laia can now stand up independently and has taken her first two steps!! 👣💛

These achievements are the result of consistent work during therapy sessions and the incredible commitment of her family, who continue supporting and carrying out activities at home.

Every small step is a huge victory, and Laia reminds us that with perseverance, love, and teamwork, dreams become a reality. 🌟

Learning to continue therapy at home

During this session, the therapist taught Laia’s mum how to correctly perform this therapeutic ball exercise so she can safely continue practicing it at home. 🩵⚽

Step 1: Sit Laia on the therapy ball, supporting her at the hips while gently moving her forwards and side to side.

Step 2: Encourage Laia to maintain her balance and bear weight through her legs during the movement, helping her activate her muscles and improve postural control.

Goal: To strengthen the lower limbs, improve balance, and prepare her body for independent walking. 👣✨

Sunday Reflection…

One photograph, hundreds of stories.

This image takes us back to 2014, when we were already walking alongside many Mamas navigating challenges and uncertainty, while holding onto big dreams for their children.

From the very beginning, we understood that behind every child is a family that also needs to be heard, supported, and empowered. That’s why our Psychology Department created group spaces where mothers could share their experiences, find strength in one another, and take part in relaxation practices designed to ease stress and help them reconnect with their own emotional well-being.

Many years have passed, but our essence remains unchanged: working with people, for people. At Mamacocha, we do more than support therapeutic processes—we build meaningful relationships, nurture hope, and grow alongside every family that becomes part of our story.

Today, we look back at this photograph with gratitude, reminded that meaningful change often begins in small, safe spaces where someone feels heard, valued, and supported.

At Mamacocha, our mission is to accompany every child and family on their unique journey, celebrating each step forward—no matter how small it may seem.

Over the past three years, Emerson has made remarkable progress across several areas of his motor and sensory development. A reduction in the previously pronounced scissor-like posture has contributed to improved alignment and mobility of his lower limbs, supporting greater comfort and movement.

Emerson can now maintain an independent seated position for several minutes, demonstrating increased postural control and trunk stability. He has also developed more functional bimanual coordination, bringing both hands to the midline with greater frequency and purpose.

In the visual domain, Emerson has shown improvements in attention, visual fixation, and tracking of stimuli, alongside better tolerance and management of visual demands during therapeutic activities.

Communication has also flourished. Emerson now vocalises spontaneously and demonstrates increased engagement with the people and environment around him.

These achievements reflect the positive impact of consistent therapeutic intervention, dedicated teamwork, and the unwavering support of his family. Each milestone represents greater participation in daily life, increased independence, and meaningful connections with the world around him.

Stories like Emerson’s remind us why we do what we do. Our purpose is not only to provide therapy but to nurture potential, celebrate progress, and walk alongside every family with hope and commitment.

💙 Korina: When Communication Finds New Paths 💙

At 10 years old, Korina shows us every day that barriers can be transformed into opportunities.

Through consistent work in alternative speech therapy and the use of visual supports, she has made significant progress in her communication, gradually strengthening her vocalization and her ability to express herself.

One of her greatest achievements has been the development of early literacy skills through image recognition and interactive activities on the laptop—an approach she truly enjoys and which has become a valuable gateway to learning.

At Mama Cocha, we believe that inclusion begins when we recognize and nurture each child’s unique potential. Korina’s journey reminds us that, with the right support, patience, and perseverance, new paths toward communication, learning, and autonomy can be built.

Valentino: Every Small Step Matters 💙

Valentino is attending speech and language therapy at Mama Cocha, who, due to a moderate global developmental delay and a mandibular malformation, faces significant challenges with verbal communication.

At present, his speech is mainly limited to referential sounds, making each achievement incredibly meaningful.

However, through his own determination, the unwavering support of his family, and consistent therapeutic intervention from the Kiya therapists, we are celebrating some truly significant milestones.

Valentino can now identify vowels and words that he previously did not recognise, demonstrating that learning is possible when perseverance and dedication are present.

At Mama Cocha, we believe that every child develops at their own pace and that no progress is too small to celebrate. Our mission is to support each of our patients with patience, commitment, and hope, working together day by day to help them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Because behind every step forward is a story of effort, and behind every achievement is an opportunity to continue growing. ✨

Looking Back: Rosario’s Story ❤️

In 2013, we met Rosario — a sweet young girl living in conditions that are difficult to put into words.

The first photos were taken during a home visit we carried out alongside the police, as part of the process to remove her from an unsafe environment and connect her with the support and care she urgently needed.

Today, more than a decade later, Rosario is living in a women’s home where she is safe, supported, and thriving. Seeing how far she has come is a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

Every child deserves safety, dignity, and the chance to build a brighter future. Rosario’s journey is proof that intervention, compassion, and long-term support can change lives.
