So good to be back singing with Bath Choral Society again after a little break. And excited to be revisiting an old favourite that still manages to send shivers down my spine with Verdi Requiem! 4th March at Bath Abbey if anyone is interested!

So, Happy New Year! (Although I know it is almost the end of January now!)
I have been very quiet on here since September, mainly because I have been (happily!) very busy with lots of school based and one to one teaching. But I am going to try and share a little more on here about what I am up to in regards to teaching and other music making in the Wiltshire area.
Over Christmas I finally got round to treating myself to purchasing a wooden descant and treble recorder and greatly enjoyed getting to know them.
And a new pupil has introduced me to this fabulous recorder player whose enthusiasm for the recorder family is infectious. She has a very interesting YouTube channel so do take a look...

Personally, I have mostly used the ABRSM syllabuses when entering pupils for exams and I myself have only sat exams though this exam board.
However, it’s really important that I explore all the options for my students so I am listening to some Webinars about a range of exam boards- really interesting listening.

I have always been a frustrated pianist; having had a couple of years of lessons during my A-levels I could play a little but my coordination and strength; especially in my left hand has been holding me back.
I have been having lessons for a couple of months now and am really enjoying it, and it is also reminding how important regular practice is!! I am never going to be a concert pianist but maybe I will get that Grade 5 one day!!

I asked my ever helpful husband to take a few photos during some of my one-to-one lessons recently. Some of them came out really well!
Do get it touch if you or someone you know are interested in lessons in singing, saxophone, clarinet, recorder or theory of music.
I teach at home in Corsham and can also travel within a short distance for an additional small fee to to cover costs.

I’ve really missed the Glastonbury coverage over the last two years as I always seem to discover a new favourite artist. A few years ago it was the brilliant First Aid Kit so enjoying watching their performance this year. Which Glastonbury performances stay in your memories?
