What if strength training gave you your life back? 🙏🏻
-
“Being able to feel more like ME is just immeasurable.”🥹
-
I know – you might be thinking “well Ant, that sounds a little bit far fetched – how can that be possible?”
-
Well, when Lara first came to see me, her outcomes looked bleak.
-
She was facing a very serious health condition, that had left her body deteriorated and absolutely exhausted. 😫
-
So, I met her where she was at. First, we started with a an assessment of exactly what she COULD do. In fact, our first sessions together were 30 minutes long, and mostly a single set or two of an exercise. 📋
-
Then, together we crafted a plan that had her safely train in the gym without causing her symptoms to worsen.
-
She’ll be the first to tell you, she’s got some serious stubbornness and resilience. 😅
-
There’d be times she’d want to “rage” as we liked to call it, and push herself a bit more, knowing it would only make her wiped out for the rest of the day, and sometimes longer.
-
So we worked out on knowing when to push, and when the body was telling her to pull back and really drop things down.◀️▶️
-
And, bar a handful of times her body told her a big NO – and a minor relapse which I famously got nicknamed as ‘casper the ghost’ I am so proud of her for the work that she has put in. 😂
-
To see just how much the strength work we did helped her with daily tasks. 👏🏻
-
Helped her to build a capacity that allowed her to walk further, without feeling like she’d need to spend the rest of the day in bed with extreme exhaustion.
-
And for her starting her new chapter, and feeling so capable to being able to live a relatively normal life. ❤️
-
What if getting strong did the same for you?
