The Department for Education is introducing a new, funded specialist training course for reception teachers. The Excellence in reception teaching national professional development course will deepen participantsβ reception-specific pedagogical knowledge and strengthen their practice through practical, evidence-based approaches, supporting more children to achieve a good level of development.

The DfE has released the eligibility criteria for the Autumn 2026 National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) cohort. Hereβs what you need to know π

β’ NPQ for Senior Leadership (new)
β’ NPQ for Early Years Leadership

This week, leaders from across the region joined us for the Ambition Institute Launch Conference of Leading PD for Teaching Assistants.
Developing the expertise of key support staff and aligning practice to wider teaching approaches aims to further boost the achievement of pupils, including those with SEND.
Leaders loved the innovative Train the Trainer model - bringing sustainability, autonomy and flexibility to their PD approaches in their setting, supported by a full sequence of sessions designed by .inst

This week we have celebrated the final ECF sessions for our ECT2s π
We have loved hearing all the fantastic feedback from teachers on how the programme has supported them on their journey:
