The online test for dyscalculia run by the Dyscalculia Cente is one of the most efficient and cost effective ways of indicating if an individual is likely to be dyscalculic. Our test is suitable for adults and children, results are normally returned within 3-4 days, and where we feel dyscalculia is present we also provide remedial materials that can be used to help the individual improve his/her understanidng of numbers and maths.

The most common question we are asked is, "How can I be tested for dyscalculia?" In essence, there are two ways. You can have a one-to-one session with a psychologist, or you can take our on-line test. We don't hide the fact that a psychologist will give you a more detailed report, as she/he will meet you face to face. But you might find a long waiting list (six months or more is not unknown) and a high cost (£450 is often quoted).
Our test is online, but it is marked personally by one of our team and does come with some helpful learning materials, if we find dyscalculia is the likely cause of your problems. And the cost is £60. Details are at

We are often asked about the difference between our test for dyscalculia and a test conducted by a psychologist in person.
To be clear, we would never want to suggest that a test on line can be as comprehensive as a test conducted in person, but I would say our test does have a few advantages.
First, you should note that while the test is computerised, each test is marked individually, not by a computer. Our reports often run to over 2000 words and can be very detailed (although we also provide a summary!)
Second, you can take the test at home or in the school or college, at any time convenient to you. We then get most tests marked within three or four days - if we are running behind, there will be a note on the site, so you'll know befiore you start.
Third, where we find dyscalculia is present we normally can supply some materials that can help you or the individual being tested start the journey of overcoming the difficulties dyscalculia causes.
