πΆββοΈπ² Walk to School Week is nearly here! π²πΆββοΈ
This week, weβre encouraging families to leave the car at home and enjoy walking, scooting, or cycling to school where possible. Itβs a great way for children to stay active, build confidence, and start the day feeling refreshed and ready to learn. π
Walking to school also helps reduce traffic and pollution around our school gates, making the journey safer and healthier for everyone. This works alongside our pupil wellbeing and readiness to learn agenda by ensuring they get their movement in as well as quality sleep and nutrition ππ
Why not join in this week and make the school run an adventure? Every step counts!
πΈ Weβd love to see your journeys β feel free to share photos (where appropriate) in the comments.

π Year 6 SATs β How Parents Can Help π
SATs begin on Monday 11th May, and we know how much your support at home can make a positive difference. Here are some simple ways to help your child feel calm, confident, and ready for the week ahead:
β
Make sure your child gets a good nightβs sleep each evening
β
Keep mornings calm, positive, and well organised
β
Encourage your child to simply try their best β effort matters most
β
Talk positively about the tests to help ease any worries or pressure
β
Allow time to relax and unwind after school
β
Ensure your child arrives at school on time each day
π From Monday to Thursday, children are invited to come into school early for breakfast as advised by the class teachers.
π¬ Most importantly, remind your child how proud you are of them β SATs are only one small part of their journey, and we already know how amazing they are!
π Together, we can help our Year 6 children feel supported, confident, and ready to shine.
π΅ What an amazing day! π΅
We were so fortunate to have some special visitors in school earlier this week who performed live music for our pupils! πΆβ¨
It's moments like these that remind us just how important it is to enhance our curriculum with extracurricular activities. These experiences bring learning to life and open up a world of possibilities for our children! π
Today's performance was all about promoting the love of music πΌβ€οΈ - and who knows? We may have just inspired some of our future musicians! πΈπΉπ€
Enriching our curriculum beyond the classroom helps our pupils discover new passions, build confidence, and develop skills that will stay with them for life. π«

π Every School Day Matters! π§©
Think of your child's education like a jigsaw puzzle. When all 20 pieces are in place, the picture is complete and clear. But what happens when pieces start going missing?
β Miss 5 days = 5 missing puzzle pieces - the message becomes harder to read
β Miss 10 days = half the puzzle gone - big gaps in understanding
β Miss 15 days = only fragments remain - learning becomes nearly impossible
Every absence is a missing piece of learning that affects:
β
Understanding new concepts that build on previous lessons
β
Keeping up with classmates
β
Confidence in the classroom
β
Future academic success
When children miss school, they don't just miss that one day - they miss building blocks that everything else is built upon. Just like you can't complete the puzzle without all the pieces, children can't reach their full potential without consistent attendance.
When all the pieces are there, that's when the complete picture of their education comes together! π
Let's work together to ensure every child has all the pieces they need for success. Attendance matters!
Be Ready (to achieve) here, on time, learning.

Discovering Hidden Talents! π
How many undiscovered talents are sitting in our classrooms right now?
Extracurricular activities open doors to experiences pupils might never choose on their own β and that's where the magic happens! β¨
Who knows how many ukulele experts we'll discover? π΅
Sometimes the activities we're least sure about become the ones that change our lives. Let's keep creating opportunities for our pupils to explore, experiment, and surprise themselves.
