Last night, we welcomed our Year 7 parents and carers to CTS for our Parent & Carer Meet & Greet.

The evening was a valuable opportunity for parents and carers to meet their child’s tutor, discuss how their child has settled into CTS, learn more about our reward initiatives and ask any questions as our newest students begin their secondary school journey.

Building strong relationships between home and school is an important part of supporting our students to thrive, and it was fantastic to see so many parents and carers joining us.

A huge thank you to our tutors and staff for supporting the evening, and to all the parents and carers who attended.

Welcome to the CTS family, Year 7!

Corby Technical School welcomed a fantastic range of Further and Higher Education providers to our school this week, giving students from Years 10–13 the opportunity to explore their options for life beyond CTS.

Students spoke directly with universities, colleges and other providers, asking questions, gathering information and considering their next steps. Alongside the exhibition, students also attended four insightful seminars focused on university life, providing a valuable insight into what studying at university could be like.

Our exhibitors were impressed with the students, with one commenting:

“Students asked very specific but relevant questions and came well prepared. They were engaged and obviously thinking about their futures.”

This is exactly what we want to see from our students: curious, informed, ambitious and thinking ahead.

A huge thank you to all the universities, colleges, employers and organisations who joined us and shared their time, knowledge and advice with our students.

The future starts with a conversation.

Today, our Year 9 students took part in a special day of engaging workshops delivered by James Merry, a CBeebies actor known for his role in Waffle the Wonder Dog.

Throughout the day, James delivered a range of interactive sessions focused on goal setting, future careers, interview skills, teamwork and presentation skills. Students had the opportunity to develop their confidence, communication and teamworking skills while thinking about their future aspirations and the steps they can take to achieve their goals.

A valuable and inspiring day for our Year 9 students!

Our Open Event for Year 6 prospective students will take place on Wednesday 30th September from 5.00pm to 7.30pm with presentations from the Principal at 5.00pm, 5.45pm and 6.30pm, no booking for these are necessary.

Please arrive promptly for the presentations.

A huge thank you to The University of Northampton for joining us at Corby Technical School and launching our first Pop-Up Shop of the academic year.

The team visited to promote the National Saturday Club, a fantastic opportunity for students to explore creative subjects, develop their skills, meet like-minded young people and make new friends.

As part of the programme, students will also have the exciting opportunity to exhibit their work at a major exhibition at the end of the academic year.

The University of Northampton team were warmly received by our students, and we hope to see many of our ambitious students take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.

This is another great example of how our approved partners and University connections help our students discover new opportunities, develop their interests and broaden their experiences beyond the classroom.

Congratulations to Sixth Form student Witek who successfully climbed Mont Blanc, the highest summit in the Alps and Western Europe, standing at approximately 4,809 metres (15,778 feet).

Witek shared with us 'The climb was extremely hard and challenging, but reaching the summit made it all incredibly rewarding. The views were absolutely beautiful, and I’m very proud of myself for taking on and completing such a difficult challenge. I completed the climb together with my dad, which made the experience even more special'.

Well done Witek, this is an amazing accomplishment.

Corby Technical School will offer you the opportunity to follow a highly personalised pathway as a post-16 student. An array of other subjects are available both at A Level and Level 3 vocational qualifications, to offer an ambitious curriculum to all students.
