Lauren's little learners

🦜This week we had the chance to visit Tropical birdland 🦜

We were all super excited to visit here, including myself! 😄
We got lots of opportunities to see the birds up close and spend some time feeding them too, we saw a couple of different animals and I even managed to hold some different parrots, which was an amazing experience!

We stayed for lunch and had a chance to play in the play area before we were caught by the rain and finished our day by seeing and listening to all the parrots, they were very noisy!

What a great day, can't wait to go back!

🌻Our little allotment in the garden is doing so well🌻

When we can, we try the different herbs and talk about the fruit and the veg we can see growing and we've got more new herbs this year growing too, we are excited to try them.

This week has been about peas, the children got to open the pea pods themselves to see what's inside and then eat the fresh peas, which the children describe as "yummy".

I've recently planted marmalade tomatoes and piccolo cherry tomatoes, which we can all have a try once they are ready and maybe have a go at making our own tomato soup 🍅

We were lucky enough today to get invited to Emma Pierce house to see the hatched chicks 🐣

Everyone was so excited and we took it in turns to hold them and give them a stroke, everyone was so careful and gentle. We also talked about the chicken life cycle and what happens to the eggs.

Apparently the chicken came first 😁
