🏈💜 WOW! WHAT A DAY! NORTH EAST CHAMPIONS! 🏆🤍

Following a hugely successful league season, our Flag Football teams travelled to Bullocksteads to compete in the North East Flag Football Championship – and what a day it turned out to be!
Both teams performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, producing some fantastic football and competing in a number of closely fought games.
💜 Corbridge Purples narrowly missed out on a semi-final place, losing two games by less than a single score. Despite the disappointment, the team showed great determination and gave everything on the field.
🤍 Corbridge Whites had an outstanding tournament, navigating the group stages with a perfect record of four wins from four to secure their place in the semi-finals. They then produced a dominant performance, winning 41–6 to book their place in the final!

🏆 THE FINAL – CHAMPIONS!
The final got off to a challenging start, with Corbridge Whites trailing 8–7 in the early stages. However, this team has shown all season that they have character, resilience and belief in one another. They fought back brilliantly, took control of the game and comfortably closed it out to lift the trophy as North East Champions! 🏆🎉
The team have been phenomenal throughout the season and remain UNBEATEN! What an incredible achievement!

The defensive line has been outstanding, scoring more points than they have conceded – an incredible statistic that highlights just how effective they have been!
Offensively, the team has come together and operates like a well-oiled machine, with everyone playing their part in the team's success.
⭐ A special congratulations to our running back, who was awarded Offensive MVP for the tournament! Even more special was receiving the award from Victor the Viking and former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jake Reed. What an experience!
👏 Finally, a huge well done to every pupil who has represented Corbridge Middle School in Flag Football this season. Their attitude, commitment, teamwork and the way they have represented our school have been outstanding.
We are incredibly proud of you all. Congratulations to our champions, and well done to both teams for an unforgettable day! 🥳🤩

In glorious conditions, the boys from our Year 7 and Year 8 rugby teams took to the field for a friendly rugby festival.
The pupils began with a structured warm-up and contact development session before putting their skills into practice against teams from Hexham, Highfield and Ovingham Middle Schools.
👏 There were some fantastic performances all round! Year 7 remained unbeaten throughout the festival, while Year 8 recorded an impressive two wins from their four matches.
The event rounded off a fantastic week of sporting participation, teamwork and success, with the boys showing great determination, sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part!
A huge thank you to Newcastle Rugby Foundation and Tynedale Rugby Club for their support in helping to make the event such a success. 🏉

Having worked with Newcastle Rugby foundation in curriculum time, our KS3 girls had the opportunity to go to Tyndale Rugby club this afternoon to further develop their skills. After completing a warm up, handling skills and developing confidence in contact, they participated in some games against and with Hexham Middle School.
As part of the festival, Tynedale rugby club provided information about how the girls can further progress their rugby by joining the club. We will feature the details in our Friday Flyer.
Well done girls! 🥳

Congratulations to our KS3 girls’ football team who progressed to the next round of the County Cup after a 4-0 away win tonight at Churchill Community College. In a close match, Corbridge led 1-0 at the halftime break. The girls created plenty of chances but it wasn't until late on that they sealed the game with 3 late goals. Well done girls! 🥳

Some of our Year 7 and Year 8 pupils had a fantastic opportunity to visit STEMFEST, where they spent the day
discovering an incredible range of career opportunities available right here in the North East. From cutting-edge Technology and Environmental Science to Space exploration and Manufacturing, pupils took part in a wide variety of interactive, hands-on experiences. It was an inspiring day of learning and discovery, and every single pupil found something they loved. A huge well done to all who attended for representing our school brilliantly!

A massive congratulations to our flag football squad, who finished the regular
season in true style! The Corbridge Whites completed an incredible regular season campaign with a perfect 6–0
unbeaten record, sealing their dominance with a fantastic victory in the opening game of the night. With another school
unable to attend, our players stepped up to ensure everyone got plenty of playing time by splitting into three Corbridge teams. Despite reduced numbers and
many players doubling up on both offence and defence, every single athlete worked tirelessly. Their hard work paid off, with all three sides putting together outstanding, winning performances throughout the evening. We now look forward to Championship Day next week. With such strong performances and great momentum behind us, the
squad goes into the final event with total
confidence. Best of luck, team!

the tournament, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. Facing strong competition, the girls secured an impressive record of 2 wins, 2 draws, and just 1 defeat across the evening. It was a fantastic showcase of skill and effort, and we are incredibly proud of how well they represented the school. Outstanding work, girls!
