Golden oldie of a book but still enjoyed and obviously learning our colours by singing the colours of the rainbow. The old ones are always the best

Feeling the love for Valentine’s Day ā¤ļø
Lovely sensory experience from both the craft and the tray and the bag painting saves all the mess šŸ˜†šŸ‘šŸ» joking aside, such gorgeous results to take home for the people they love.
Some great practice of the fine motor skills turned into making love heart pasta bracelets šŸ˜

Why are we painting the bird box these colours? For ā€˜camouflage’ of course! Lots of new words and understanding of how we are helping the birds by putting up bird boxes in the garden

Learning about different homes for birds, new language always being introduced and used.
A fun activity working together to build a nest for the birds to lay their eggs. They know why nests are important for birds and especially why they are located high up in trees to stay away from ā€˜predators’

Feeding the blackbird chicks the ā€˜worms’
They loved the blackbirds so much that they asked if they could each take one home šŸ¦ā€ā¬›
We learnt about the different foods birds can eat and different home they using two lovely books so we thought we would explore some of that further.
The children found it a bit of a challenge to use the blackbird heads as beaks with their fingers in but they did persevere! They loved the role play and the feel of the fake soil. They compared the size of the worms while feeding the ā€˜chicks’

Picking up our bigger friends from school is never a chore, it’s an excuse to get some exercise and learn about the surroundings. The children have been particularly taken by the snowdrops and crocus plants that we see and love spotting them along the route.

Transitioning from buggy to walking further and further each day and really enjoying it ā¤ļø we learn all about being safe in our surroundings too. We are so lucky to be able to do it in such a lovely place
