As another school year comes to an end, we are also saying some heartfelt goodbyes to several valued members of our Cookstown Primary School family.

We would like to thank our teachers, Mr McIvor, Miss Mitchell, Miss Mitchell, Mrs Espie and Miss Curry, for their dedication, enthusiasm and the care they have shown to our pupils. Each of you has made a lasting difference to the lives of so many children, and we are so grateful for all you have contributed during your time with us.

We also want to express our sincere thanks to our wonderful classroom assistants, Miss McGuigan, Mrs Curry, Miss Giles and Miss Wilson, for the incredible support, kindness and encouragement you have given to both pupils and staff each and every day. Your patience, hard work and commitment have been truly appreciated.

While we’re sad to see you all go, we wish each of you every happiness and success in the next chapter of your journey. Thank you for being such an important part of the Cookstown Primary School community, you will always be welcome back!

Today, we said goodbye to our amazing Year 7 pupils as they walked out of Cookstown Primary School for the very last time. ❤️

Our staff formed a guard of honour to clap them out, celebrating the end of a very special seven year journey. It was a proud and emotional moment as we reflected on the memories, laughter, friendships and achievements that have filled their time with us.

To each and every one of you, well done! You have each left your mark on our school and will always hold a special place in our hearts. You will be greatly missed, but you will always be welcome back through our doors.

As you begin your next adventure at secondary school, we wish you every success and happiness. Keep believing in yourselves, work hard, be kind, make the most of every opportunity and always try your very best.

Good luck, Year 7! We are so proud of you all. 🌟

We would like to celebrate the retirement of a very special member of the Cookstown Primary School family – Mr Michael Beggs.

Michael began working in Cookstown Primary School in 1992 and, after 34 years of dedicated service, we say a fond farewell as he begins his well earned retirement next week.

Over the years, Michael taught both Primary 6 and Primary 7, and for so many pupils he will always be remembered as a true Maths whizz! His love for teaching maths was clear for all to see, and he had a wonderful way of helping children grow in confidence and ability.

Michael was known for his firm but fair approach, his wisdom, and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him. He always had great advice to offer and a listening ear whenever it was needed. He has been a constant source of support to both pupils and colleagues alike.

Outside the classroom, Michael gave so much to school life. A keen sportsman, he coached the football team, organised Sports Day over many years, and created many happy memories on residential trips. And of course, we couldn’t let this moment pass without mentioning his dancing skills! Michael definitely has the moves and can groove!

Michael has played such an important part in the life of Cookstown Primary School and he will be greatly missed by staff, pupils and the wider school community.

We thank him for his years of service, commitment, wisdom, humour and friendship, and we wish him every happiness and blessing in his retirement.

What a night!
On Thursday 18th June our very talented Year 7 pupils produced an incredible performance of ‘The Lion King’, as their Leavers Play! We are so proud of every pupil who took to the stage to produce a brilliant performance of this Disney classic.
A huge thank you to all the family and friends who came to watch our outstanding pupils.

Today we held our annual Year 7 Awards Assembly to celebrate all the success of our wonderful Year 7 pupils. A massive congratulations to all those children who received cups, shields and certificates.

💸 Business Beginnings Sale 💸

Over the past few weeks, our Year 7 pupils have been working hard both on the stage and in the classroom! Following an excellent programme created by Young Enterprise , the children had the opportunity to develop their own businesses and create products to sell.

For one day only, the following businesses were open:

We are so proud of their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit. Now we’re looking forward to spending our profits on some well-earned treats! 😎
