🌟 Welcome to Cookstown High School! 🌟

It was lovely to welcome our new Year 8 pupils to CHS this morning as they began an exciting new chapter in their school journey.

There were big smiles all around as pupils met their Form Tutors, got to know their new surroundings and began making new friends.

It was also wonderful to see everyone looking so smart in their new school uniforms! 😊

We hope our Year 8 pupils enjoyed their first morning and are looking forward to all the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead.

Could you be our Ebenezer Scrooge?

Perhaps you’re destined to become Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, one of the mysterious Ghosts of Christmas… or one of the many colourful characters who bring Dickens’ classic Christmas tale to life!

🎬 AUDITIONS – FRIDAY 4 SEPTEMBER

If you fancy treading the boards, now is the time to get prepared.

📜 Please see Mrs S Brimage for an audition script if you are interested in taking part. Pick yours up in advance, practise your lines and come along ready to show us what you can do!

Whether you’re an experienced performer or have always wanted to give acting a try, we’d love to see you audition.

Year 8 – First Day Reminder

We are really looking forward to welcoming our new Year 8 pupils to Cookstown High School tomorrow!
⏰ Arrive: 9.30am
🏠 Finish: 1.00pm

A few reminders for the day:
Please bring a snack for break and a bottle of water.
Pupils should bring their school bag and stationery equipment.

📸 School photographs will be taken and will be available to purchase in due course – best smiles tomorrow!

🚌 Please note that there is no EA transport or school meals provision until Tuesday 1 September.

Arrival: Pupils should say goodbye to parents/carers at the Turning Circle and make their way to the Millar Hall, where staff and pupils will be there to welcome and guide them.

Collection: At 1.00pm, pupils will be guided from the Millar Hall back to the Turning Circle to meet their parents/carers.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact reception.

We hope our new Year 8 pupils are as excited to meet us as we are to meet them!

Congratulations, Lewis! 🎉

Cookstown High School would like to congratulate former pupil Lewis Shepherd, who has secured an apprenticeship with FP McCann following his recent A-Level results.

We are delighted to see Lewis taking this exciting next step and wish him every success as he develops his skills, gains valuable experience and begins his career journey.

We are delighted to celebrate those who recently obtained exceptional A-Level results and have taken the next step in their career by securing apprenticeships within Accounting and Quantity Surveying at FP McCann. 👏

We look forward to supporting Diarmuid Bradley, Luca O’Neill, Lewis Shepherd, Bobby Kennedy and Jonny Graham as they develop their skills, build their future and begin their career journey with us.

World Hockey Youth Festival Success!

Congratulations to Callum and TJ, who have just returned from Holland after being selected to represent Ulster U18s at the World Hockey Youth Festival.

The boys performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament, helping the Ulster team reach the final, a fantastic achievement on the international stage!
Well done, Callum and TJ. Everyone at Cookstown High School is very proud of you!

Former Pupil Success – Congratulations Leah!

Congratulations to former Cookstown High School pupil Leah Neill, who has graduated from Aberystwyth University with a 2:1 in Nursing.

Leah has now begun her career as a nurse at Craigavon Area Hospital. 🩺

We are delighted to celebrate Leah’s achievement and wish her every success as she begins this exciting new chapter in her career.
