** Robotics and Magnetics After-School Clubs **

We are delighted to announce that CORE Kids NI will be returning to Coagh Primary School after the Half Term break with another exciting 4 week After-School Programme for our pupils.

Following the success of the recent LEGO Spike Robotics sessions, pupils in P4-P7 will once again have the opportunity to take part in Robotics Club (there is a competition during November and Coagh Primary School plan to enter two teams) and for P1-P3 pupils there will be Magnetics Club.

P1-P3 Magnetics Club

Thursdays | 2.00pm - 3.00pm

Build, create and explore with magnetic construction while developing creativity, teamwork and fine motor skills.

P4-P7 LEGO Spike Robotics Club

Thursdays | 3.00pm - 4.00pm

Design, build and code using LEGO Spike Robotics technology, developing problem-solving, computational thinking and teamwork skills.

** Girls Hockey Blitz at Royal School Dungannon **

It was fantastic to see our Girls Hockey Team take part in their first blitz tournament of the year today at The Royal School, Dungannon. The event was organised by Ulster Hockey and provided an excellent opportunity for the girls to put their skills and teamwork into practice.

The team played five matches during the morning, taking on Magherafelt Primary School, Ballytrea Primary School, Woods Primary School (B), Howard Primary School and Donaghmore Primary School. Throughout the tournament, the girls demonstrated excellent skill, determination and teamwork, showing the progress they have made in their development in the past few years.

The results were excellent, with the girls winning three matches, drawing two and conceding just one goal across the entire blitz.

Alana – 2 goals

Every member of the squad played their part in an excellent morning of hockey. The girls represented Coagh Primary School superbly, showing great sportsmanship, resilience and effort in every game.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to following their progress throughout the season.

P5/P6 Pumpkin Art
P5/6 had great fun creating their beautiful pumpkin artwork last week!
We worked carefully to observe the shape and details of real pumpkins before sketching out designs onto black card.
Once our drawings were complete, we traced over the lines using glue. This created a natural barrier that helped separate different sections of our artwork.
We then used oil pastels to add colour, experimenting with blending and shadowing techniques to create depth and form. The glue resisted the oil pastel, allowing the black card to show through and add striking contrast to our pictures.
We had so much fun exploring colour, light and shadow to create the illusion of depth. We are very proud of our vibrant Autumn masterpieces.

**Concert in Aid of NIPANC – Ticket Information**

Coagh Primary School is delighted to invite members of our school and wider community to a special concert in aid of NIPANC (Northern Ireland Pancreatic Cancer Charity) on Thursday 22nd October at 7.00pm in Coagh Presbyterian Church Hall.

This promises to be a wonderful evening of music and community spirit as we come together to support a very worthy cause and remember our much-missed colleague, Alison Wilson.

*Ticket Information*

Due to the high level of interest already being shown and the limited capacity of the venue, admission will be by ticket only.
Tickets will be available from 9.00am on Friday 16th October and can be obtained in one of two ways:

We have intentionally delayed the release of tickets until Friday to give everyone a few days to consider how many tickets they require and whether they would prefer to book online or through the school office.

Unfortunately, because we expect this to be a very popular event, we will be unable to accommodate people who arrive on the evening without a ticket. We do not want to be in the position of having to turn people away at the door, so it is very important that all attendees reserve their tickets in advance using one of the methods above.

*Information for Parents of School Choir Members*

The Coagh Primary School Choir will be performing at the start of the concert programme.

If you would like your child to sit with you in the audience after they have performed, please ensure that you reserve a ticket for both yourself and your child. This will allow us to accurately calculate seating requirements and ensure that every attendee has a place.

If you intend to collect your child after the choir’s performance then there is no need to reserve a seat for them.

*Seats for Performers and Acts*

To help us maximise the number of seats available and ensure that as many people as possible can attend the concert, we would ask all performers and members of participating acts (for example, the Past Pupils' Choir) to reserve a seat if they wish to remain in the audience for the remainder of the concert.

Seats can be booked through either of the ticketing options outlined above.

The school will be available throughout the evening for performers and acts to use as a preparation area before they are due on stage, allowing time for rehearsals, tuning instruments and final preparations. As a result, performers do not need to reserve a seat unless they wish to be seated in the audience when they are not performing.

By reserving seats only when required, we can ensure that as many members of the community as possible have the opportunity to attend this special event.

*Supporting NIPANC*

Tickets for the concert are ‘free’ and they are simply to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to attend. There will be donation boxes at the concert and all money collected will be in aid of NIPANC. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help support the charity's important work in improving outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and supporting families across Northern Ireland.

We encourage everyone to secure their tickets early and join us for what promises to be a memorable evening of music, community and fundraising.

Please share this information with anyone you know who might be interested/planning to attend so that we can avoid disappointment on the evening.

Exciting News - Coagh Primary School is now a Forest School

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Coagh Primary School is now an officially recognised Forest School, accredited by Forest School NI.

This is a wonderful achievement for our school and an exciting opportunity for all our pupils to take their learning beyond the classroom and into the great outdoors!

Throughout the school year our Forest School leader, Mrs Palmer will be working with every class to deliver a series of fun, engaging and practical Forest School lessons. These sessions will encourage children to explore the natural world, develop new skills, build confidence and enjoy the many benefits of learning outdoors.

Through our Forest School programme, we aim to promote outdoor learning, sustainability, creativity, teamwork and positive mental wellbeing, while helping our pupils develop a lifelong love and respect for nature.

We can't wait to see our children learning, exploring, discovering and growing together in our outdoor environment - whatever the weather!

💛 September Value of the Month- Kindness 💛

At Coagh Primary School, we are proud to promote our six core values throughout the year. Each month, we focus on one value and encourage our pupils to demonstrate it in their everyday actions.

During September, our focus was 'Kindness', and it was lovely to see so many pupils embracing what kindness means within our school community. Through their thoughtful actions, caring attitudes and support for others, our pupils showed how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

We were delighted to present our September Value of the Month certificates during our Harvest Assembly on Friday. The assembly provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate those pupils who consistently demonstrated kindness throughout the month.

Congratulations to all of our September Values Winners! We are incredibly proud of the example you have set for others.

As we move into October, our new focus value will be 'Perseverance'. We look forward to seeing our pupils demonstrate determination, resilience and a positive attitude as they tackle new challenges and opportunities.

Well done once again to our September winners, and we wish everyone the very best as we begin our October focus on perseverance.

** Accelerated Reader Success **

We are delighted to celebrate the wonderful reading achievements of our pupils through the Accelerated Reader programme.

A special congratulations to our Bronze Star recipients, Joey (P4) and Toby (P7), who have each reached the impressive milestone of 250,000 words read.

We are incredibly proud of these pupils and their dedication to reading. Their commitment, enthusiasm, and perseverance are a fantastic example to others across the school.

Well done to all of our readers. Keep up the fantastic work, and we look forward to celebrating many more Accelerated Reader milestones and achievements in the weeks ahead.

♻️ ECO COMMITTEE 2026-2027 ♻️

We were delighted by the tremendous interest shown by pupils who wanted to become members of the Eco Committee this year. The response was so positive that selecting the final committee was incredibly difficult.

We are pleased to announce our Eco Committee for 2026-2027. These pupils will work alongside Mrs Palmer throughout the year to help lead environmental initiatives across the school.

The committee will play an important role in developing new ideas and projects, particularly within our Outdoor Learning Area. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make.

At Coagh Primary School, we are committed to helping pupils become responsible citizens who care for their environment and community. The Eco Committee provides an excellent opportunity for pupils to develop leadership skills, teamwork and a sense of ownership in making our school an even better place to learn and play.

Congratulations to all pupils who applied. We were extremely impressed by the enthusiasm shown by everyone and encourage those who were not selected this year to continue sharing their ideas and supporting our eco-friendly initiatives throughout the year.

Taekwondo Success for Isaac

A huge congratulations to Isaac (P6), who enjoyed an outstanding day at the INTA Open Taekwondo Championships in Dublin yesterday.

Isaac competed brilliantly and came home with an incredible three medals.
