Firework paintings using kitchen brushes. We listened to the sound of fireworks on Alexa to inspire us. Children often struggle to spend time painting as they are very results driven and often dislike having messy hands, but the process of creating is very important regardless of the result. Using unusual items to create art can encourage their creativity, playing music is calming and allowing them to use their hands gives them a sensory experience.
Art is extremely important for focus and dexterity and allows them to get totally absorbed in a way that screens don’t.
Even better if you can leave it out for them to return to…
