“It’s one of the best things he’s done… and he does a lot!” 🤩

We absolutely LOVE getting feedback like this after our cooking camps! 💜

A recent message from a parent after our camp honestly made our day:

💬 “B said it’s one of the best things he’s done… and he does a lot! So that speaks volumes 🤩 Honestly, he’s never stopped saying how much he loved it and he can’t wait to come back again!”

We’re not sure what makes us happier… knowing he had such a brilliant time, or knowing he’s already asking to come back!

Our camps are about so much more than cooking. They’re a chance for children to learn new skills, build confidence, make friends, get stuck in and, most importantly, have a great time while they do it.

Thank you so much to this lovely parent for taking the time to send us this feedback. 💜

🎨🍞 EDIBLE ART… but make it focaccia!

A little throwback to our final Mini Bakers session of the summer, where our bakers didn’t just decorate their focaccia… they made it from scratch too!👩‍🍳

They mixed, kneaded and shaped their own dough before turning it into edible works of art using colourful vegetables, herbs and plenty of imagination. 🌿🌈🌸

And this is exactly why we love activities like this at Creative Kitchen.

There’s something really mindful about getting your hands into dough. The mixing, kneading and shaping can be wonderfully calming, while the creative side gives children the freedom to make something that is completely their own.

It’s also a great way to encourage children to explore fresh ingredients, learn more about the food they eat and build confidence in the kitchen.

And the best bit? It’s not just a children’s activity.

Cooking, baking and hands-on creative food activities can be a brilliant way for all ages to switch off from busy days, get stuck into something practical and enjoy a bit of mindful mess. 💜

Because sometimes a bowl of dough, a handful of vegetables and a table covered in flour is exactly what you need! 😂

September is just around the corner, and if packed lunches are already filling you with dread, you’re not alone! Coming up with something new (and something they’ll actually eat) every single day is no small task.

We could help with that, drop a comment below if you’d love us to put together a packed lunch recipe pack, with ideas your kids can actually help make themselves. A little independence, a bit of variety, and one less thing on your plate.

🎅COOKING WITH SANTA IS COMING!

Since Santa Ste released his Christmas timetable, we’ve had LOTS of messages asking about our Cooking with Santa event on Tuesday 8th December…and yes, it’s happening! 🎅💜

We’re busy putting the final details together, but we’ve chosen not to release tickets just yet. We want everyone to enjoy the rest of summer before we start with all things Christmas!

🎟️ Tickets will be available to book from September, with more information coming very soon.

Apparently, this is what happens when you own a business. 😂

The laptop comes out, the ideas start flowing and suddenly I’m planning, plotting and scribbling down things I absolutely did NOT need to add to my list. 😂

Our second Pokémon session was just as much fun as the first! ⚡️

Annual leave doesn’t apply when you’re invited to a royal birthday celebration… right! 👑

This morning we celebrated a very special birthday with a princess party!

There were crowns, baking, decorating and plenty of sparkle, the perfect way to celebrate a very special birthday girl! 👑

And yes… I am supposed to be on annual leave but I couldn’t miss this one!

We're thinking of launching a monthly Family Bake Off, would you be up for it? 🏆

Think teams (families!) going head-to-head on a themed baking challenge, plenty of creativity (and a fair bit of chaos), and a Star Baker spoon up for grabs for the winners. It's the kind of bake off that's equal parts fun and friendly competition, and we think it could become a proper regular event.

Throwback to our time out and about in Gateshead this summer! 🦖🍳

From decorating dino fossil cookies as part of Gateshead's Summer of Fun, to hosting our interactive cooking workshops at Gateshead Food Festival, it's safe to say we had an incredible time getting out into the community this year. Meeting Paw Patrol, face painting, and hundreds of proud little chefs showing off what they'd made. The memories from these days still make us smile.

A huge thank you to Gateshead Council for inviting us along and funding these sessions, making them free and accessible for so many local families. And to our amazing team, who brought the energy every single time, you were incredible.

Days like these are exactly why we do what we do. Keep an eye out, because there's always more happening across the North East and we'd love to see you there!
