Due to a road traffic collision in Consett this morning, we are experiencing significant difficulties getting our school transport to the usual pick-up points.

We have therefore made the decision not to send our school buses out this morning.

Students should either make their own way into school where possible, or remain at home and complete their work via Google Classroom.

We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, the current traffic situation is outside of our control.

Thank you for understanding

Today, in recognition of World Su***de Prevention Day, our students took part in a very important form activity. We are incredibly proud to share that their behavior was immaculate as they navigated this sensitive topic with outstanding maturity and respect.

During the session, students engaged in open discussions about the in-school support systems available to them, ensuring everyone knows exactly who they can turn to if they or a friend ever need help.

To conclude the activity, the students worked together to create some truly thoughtful awareness posters. These will be proudly displayed throughout the building as a daily reminder to our school community that support is always available and no one has to struggle alone.

We are so proud of our students for approaching today with such empathy! 💛💚

📞 UPDATE – SCHOOL PHONE LINES

Unfortunately, our main school phone line is still currently unavailable.

We have been informed that the old copper phone line coming into the school has now been switched off. At the moment, we have not been given a timescale for when the replacement line will be installed, and unfortunately this is outside of the school’s control.

We understand how important it is for parents and carers to be able to contact us, so we are actively looking at alternative solutions to get our main phone service back up and running as soon as possible.

📱 In the meantime, you can contact the school on our mobile number:
07598 423007

We apologise for any inconvenience and really appreciate your patience while we work to find a solution.

Thank you,
Delta Independent School

📱 In the meantime, please contact the school using our school mobile number:
