Did someone say that was the last week of the summer holidays?! 🥰 Another 6 weeks survived (on my behalf)!! 😅

We have had a lovely week to end the summer break, couple of treats along the way 🤫 a whole heap of cuddles!

We started the week off at Blanchland park, had a good play, run around with the frisby, picnic and an explore! 🧺

Tuesday we were over Derwant Resevoir for the Bubbleman! He provided great entertainment as always, lots of bubbles to chase and lots of laughter to have 🫧 we played, had a picnic and met with friends. It was one of their littles last day which was a lovely way to end the summer for him, we hope to see him in the next holidays ❤️

Wednesday we visited Wheelbirks! Which I’m truly gutted we’ve only just discovered and it’s closing next week! 🥹
We met with friends, petted the animals - particularly the donkeys they loved! Had a play and a cheeky ice cream of course 🍦 if you’re in the local area and want an extremely delicious ice cream treat before they close on the 06/09 I highly recommend! We’ll be taking a trip back as a family before too 🤭

Thursday we ended the week with feeding the ducks, I say that loosely. Trying to be clever we fed the littles snacks first in hope they’d feed the ducks the bread as they had full tummies - did it work? Clearly not! One piece for the littles and one piece for the ducks 🦆 we had a big old walk followed by a play at the park and of course another picnic! 🛝 We’ve been loving the alfresco dining with the glorious weather we’ve been having and we will continue to get out as much as we can for as long as we can, before we start utilising a couple of the indoor areas when the weather conditions change drastically 🫠

It was one of my littles last ‘full time week’ this week so we ended the week with big cuddles and giving her our special leaving bear 🧸
She’ll not be gone completely as I’m lucky enough to say I’ll have her and her big sister still for some wrap around days after school which will be lovely ❤️

I hope everyone has a lovely long weekend, hopefully the weather hasn’t turned just yet and we can still enjoy some of the Bank Holiday before schools restart! Xx

The end of the summer holidays are nearing, we’ve had another lovely week with nearly a full house - 1 little missing as their on their travels 🥰

One last week reminding, hopefully a full house and then the start of a new routine and some normality/structure for us all. Lots of changes with a fresh term starting ❤️

We started the week with a trip to Hall Hill Farm. We saw lots of animals, had a ride on the tractor, held some guinea pigs, played in the soft play and had a picnic 🐮 the weather thankfully held off, albeit it a little windy!

Tuesday we took a trip to East Grange Farm to experience their sunflower maze and pick some sunflowers for the littles to take home 🌻 the bubble man was there, he’s truly amazing with the kids and it shows he loves his job 🫧 the guys with the owls were there, those that wanted to have a hold got the chance which was really lovely of them 🦉

Wednesday we took a trip to Lanchester park - one we haven’t been to for a while. Prepared with puddle suits as it had rained in the night so just to save soggy bums I thought ahead. Thankfully I did, the heavens opened at one point with that real misty (rubbish) rain - did it stop us? Did it heck. The littles ran around catching the rain, jumping in puddles, playing still and having a blast! We tried to find a rainbow but there wasn’t one 🌈 We had lunch and snacks and literally spent the day there. A bit of rain doesn’t stop us 🤭☔️

Thursday we spent the morning chasing horse fields before heading to Ultimate Bounce - Consett, they loved watching the horses running around, feeding and seeing different ones - such a great activity for a rainy morning! Once at UB, the sensory room is always a big hit and of course the trampolines. We played human skittles and break the egg! Great fun. Had some snacks before our session ended and headed home.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend ❤️ x

First week back after my little break and I can’t tell you how lovely it was to be back and catch up with my littles and their cuddles! 🥰

We was blessed with another glorious week so we’ve been here, there and everywhere!
Starting off with a trip to Allensford, somewhere right on our doorstep but not a park we visit often! We had a play, a walk and watched the doggies in the river! It was a really lovely morning to get us back into the swing of things!

On Tuesday we went to Blackhill Park, had a play and an explore. One of the bigger ones found some books that had been hidden by a lovely member of the community! We took them home and have read them, we’ll take them out with us this week and hide them for other littles to enjoy 📖
We had a picnic, rolled around the grass and ended off with “round and round the garden 🎤” which unfortunately, the parents can enjoy the video but Facebook doesn’t allow me to include it in my pictures 🥹 … just imagine three little ones dancing away to my singing (eek) and the littlest one watching on 😍

Wednesday we took a trip to the park, saw some horses and waved at the planes ✈️ before heading to Ultimate Bounce - Consett where we haven’t been since the start of the holidays 😳! The littles loved to be back bouncing and it was lovely to see the staff again after what felt like forever! This place is a safe haven for us during the colder months and we all thoroughly enjoy being there 🌌

Thursday we went over to Hill End with a paddle in the river, it was very sparse this time round so we ventured further in to get to the water. Played with the water toys, watched the bigger ones catch fish and made new friends! We finished with a picnic in the tent ⛺️
Unfortunately our day ended early as I got a phone call that my little girl had an accident with a bunch of sticks to her eye (following minor surgery she had the week before 🤦🏼‍♀️) - thankfully after the loveliest man at Shotley walk in centre saw to her and played with some bubbles, we went home for her to rest her poorly eye! - she’s been sent from above to keep me on my toes I’m sure of it!!

We ended the week with a trip to Haystax park! Explored the woods, had a play and then headed home for som yummy chicken wraps and ice lollies 🍦

It was so lovely to be back with everyone, although it wasn’t quite a full house with some still enjoying their travels! Next week the crew should be back together 🤞🏼

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! X

First morning to myself in a couple of weeks and I’ve finalised all the new contracts and paperwork ready for the new term starting in September 🥵

I can assure you, behind the scenes it never stops. Updates continuously happening, policies being reviewed, funding changes, CPD, training, you name it …

And I’m not shy in saying I HATE paperwork 🫠

I am however looking forward to starting my new diary in the next term, that does excite me 👀

I have a few remaining spaces opening up from September 2027 if anyone is looking to plan ahead, please don’t hesitate to get in touch ❤️

That’s it, my last two car seats are cleaned. The car has had a treat of being washed inside and out.
Theres been some paperwork changes happening behind the scenes and contract prep ready for the new term starting in September.

So although I’ve had “two weeks off” it hasn’t really been “two weeks off” plus I’ve had my own littles for two weeks solid with an added (minor) operation thrown in for my little girl 🤭

I cannot wait to see my little friends this week, I’m well over due some cuddles 🥰

Tell me your a childminder? That’s 4 out of 6 cleaned on the first day of me being closed 😅

Of course I roped in the kids - to be fair he loves a hoover and a cleaning cloth 🤭!!

They’ll be pleased to know there’s no more cleaning tomorrow - we’ve had a super busy, productive day clearing out, moving things around and sorting the house whilst it’s empty of littles and they’ve got to enjoy a PJ day with no rushing around 🥰

Bar getting the other two chairs cleaned, the rest of our time together will be filled with much more fun activities - promise ❤️

P.S remember to squeeze then littles for me 😘

What a way to finish for my little break, another absolutely lovely week!

We started off with a visit to Lanchester Park for a play before heading over to Derwant Resevoir to see Crazy Creatures North East. Lots of animals to see, hold, cry at and want to squeeze! We played in the park, had a picnic and explored in the sand 🐍🐁

On Tuesday we took a trip over Durham to visit the botanic gardens, it was a really lovely day! We walked LOTS! Saw some lovely flowers, wildlife, sculptures, played in the woods, explored the grounds and see some insects - they had bee hives too! We had yet another picnic 🧺

Wednesday we drove over to Stanhope as we hadn’t been there for ages! We had a play in the park along with a picnic before heading to the river. A couple of littles explored the water more than others 🤭💧 some of the bigger ones went off exploring and caught a fish to bring back and show the smaller ones!

We ended the week over at Hill End, we spent the day exploring the water, playing with toys. We climbed the mountains & again caught some bugs. The bubbles came out and the littles had the best day (so did the adults). We had food, drinks & treats! 🫧

It’s really hard to call this “work” when I have just as much fun as the littles on a daily basis 🥰

I’m closed now for some much needed time with my own family. Please give my little best friends big squeezes from me, I’ll miss them very much ❤️

See you all on the other side x

Another favorite week 🌞

Started off the week strong with a childminders sports day! We met with friends and had so much fun! My new tent provided the shade we needed and the kids loved it! We had the egg and spoon race, hoops, bean bags, parachute, bug hunting kit and even the adults had a race 🤭
The littles were rewarded with donuts and cookies for all their efforts. Along with a medal for being little winners 🏅

On Tuesday we went to the reservoir but walked a different route for a change. Over the bridge to the tower and looked out on a different viewpoint. It was a lovely walk but way hotter than expected, thankfully the intermittent breeze helped 🥵
We stopped off at the park after for a picnic and a play! Followed by ice lollies all round 🍦

The Cubby Hole Cafe and Mini Soft Play on Wednesday for a play with friends and full tummies all round, spag Bol is a firm favorite of there’s with garlic bread and cucumber sticks. Clean plates all round 😋
No more Messy Cubs over the 6 week holidays! We already can’t wait to be back in September 🎨

Dipton Playgroup held a graduation party for all those moving up in their adventures 🎓 we had cake and treats for snacks, along with crisps and fruit. It’s all about balance 😁
Before heading to the park for a play and a picnic whilst we waited for Random's Retreat CIC to open in the afternoon! It was so lovely to be back with the animals in the great outdoors! The littles had missed the chickens and they spent some time bug hunting 🐜

I hope everyone has had a lovely week and you all have a fab weekend.

Has there been many emotions today for the last day of term? I know my hearts feeling a little heavy today 🥹❤️ sending love and hugs to you all!

I think this might have been one of my favorite weeks, despite it being a touch “too hot” at times 🥵

I had some swaps with days this week so I could go and see my sons sports day, which he did so well at 🥰 as always thanks to my wonderful families for always being so flexible and supportive of me being able to attend things for my own littles!

On Tuesday we took a trip over to the Resevoir. We saw the big water, people fishing, walkers, an army helicopter, had a huge walk round one half before heading back to feed the ducks and have a look at the bug hotel 🦆🐞
We hoped into the car and took a short journey round the corner to where the park was so we could use the toilets and have a picnic in the park 🛝

Wednesday was our usual day at The Cubby Hole Cafe and Mini Soft Play for a play with friends and full tummies from Stan. Wednesdays never disappoint 😋
We hope Kirsty from Messy Cubs is feeling better and hope to be back in the messy room next week 🤞🏼
We spent the afternoon back at Jades house with the air con, fans, ice, free play and just keeping cool! 🆒

Dipton Playgroup on Thursday for a play, sunshine craft, snacks and yummy ice lollies again ❄️ before heading to the local park for shade, so we could continue enjoying the outdoors but keeping safe and cool. We had a picnic, played with chalks & met up with friends. Our littles collectively drew “Jade and Ann” and I can really see the resemblance 👀

Ending the week we took a trip out to a new, most likely favorite place 🥰
We played with water, threw some stones, some got a little more wet than others 🤭 I had my legs washed by the littles and oh my was it so cooling! We stayed for a picnic before heading home as unfortunately there was absolutely no shade! Hopefully my Amazon order will sort that for next time 🤞🏼

There’s been lots of ice lollies and ice in bottles this week to keep us cool, although the bottles have melted within minutes it’s been a cool experiment for the littles to watch 🫠

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend ❤️

A week of getting out and about every day, exploring, playing, learning, building confidence & most importantly, having fun! 🌞

We started with Toddlers session on Monday followed by a picnic at Benfieldside Community Garden. The wind was a bit blistery but we survived our lunch and a play before heading off 🧺

On Tuesday we went to our local park, we took the chalks, bubbles and the frisby & had a super lovely morning. We had a play in the park and saw some fellow childminders and their littles. Then we finished off with another picnic in the bandstand before having a run around and heading home. 🫧

Wednesday is like a ritual for us, we always go to The Cubby Hole Cafe and Mini Soft Play. We’ve been visiting here for nearly 3 years and it is truly one of their favorite places. The people who visit are lovely, the staff are incredible with the children and the food is always yummy! Not to add it’s where one of our favorite sessions is held, although not on this week we hope to be back in the messy room next week 🤞🏼

Thursday I had to make a few swaps as my little girl had her Pre-School settling session so the ones I had in went to Dipton Playgroup for the morning. They played and made pirate hats! 🏴‍☠️ then we stopped off at the park on the way home for picnics and a play before an early finish so I could take my little one to school 🥹 she had a fab time and loved every minute, my heart however still feels a little heavy at the thought of her starting school in September 💔

I don’t usually work on a Friday but this week because of some changes I had all my girls in, which was lovely! We spent the entire morning and afternoon at Haystax with a picnic and friends. We had some friends join us and we celebrated another littles birthday, sang and had cupcakes 🧁 we hope she had a lovely 2nd birthday!

Finished the week off with a trip to the park after school 🛝

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend 😘 x
