🐴 Our animals are at the heart of everything we do at Random's Retreat. 🐔

They're more than just the residents of Random's Retreat, they're our teachers, our companions, and often the reason people first discover us.

Every session, every activity, and every experience is built around treating our animals with kindness, respect, and understanding. In return, they help people build confidence, find calm, make connections, and create unforgettable memories.

Whether it's grooming a horse, feeding the sheep, cuddling a guinea pig, or simply sitting quietly alongside the herd, our animals have an incredible way of bringing out the best in people.

We're so grateful to share our wonderful animal family with everyone who visits Random's Retreat.

👻 Halloween Holiday Club at Randoms Retreat - Tuesday (27th) & Thursday (29th) October half term from 2.30-4.30pm!🎃

Join us for an unforgettable afternoons filled with Halloween magic. Our site will be decked out in spooky decorations, with plenty of creepy crafts for kids to get creative, while our friendly animals wait for a cuddle.

You can warm up with delicious fire-cooked snacks, and little ones won’t leave empty-handed – every child will take part in our halloween hunt with plenty of treats. It’s the perfect mix of frights, fun, and feasts!

🌟 Calling All Young Horse Lovers! 🐴✨

Looking for a fun, hands-on outdoor activity for your young person to learn about equine care, build confidence, and connect with nature?

Join us at Random’s Retreat for the Equimotional Young Equestrians Academy! 🌾🐴💚

Through engaging activities with our gentle herd, participants will develop valuable horsemanship skills, learn about pony wellbeing, and boost their emotional resilience in a calm, supportive environment.

All learnings can be mapped over to our AQA UAS programme so your young person can recieve recognised learning certificates too.

📍 Location: Random’s Retreat CIC (Medomsley, Consett)

WITCHES CIRCLE | HALLOWEEN GATHERING 🖤

Friday 30th October | 7–8:30pm
📍 Random's Retreat CIC

Come and join us for a little Halloween magic as we gather together to honour the dead, connect with our ancestors and release what no longer serves us.

A beautiful evening for like-minded women, meaningful connection and a little bit of witchy fun. ✨

We will gather around the fire, take time to reflect, honour those who have passed and create space to let go through meditation and ritual.

🕯️ Bring along:
• A small token or photograph of someone who has passed, to honour their memory.
• Something you would like to release, which can be safely burned in our fire.

A chance to lay down what you’ve been carrying, honour the cycles of life and death, and make space for what comes next.

Fancy dress is encouraged! So dust off your witchy hats, grab your broomsticks and come along! 🧹

This will be my FINAL outdoor event of the year before I head indoors for winter, so let’s make it a special one. 🖤

Come as you are. Bring your memories, your intentions and your beautiful selves ✨

As the Autumn comes in our toddlers and younger members will love spending time in our garden. It may be messy, but our mud kitchen is always a favourite with our younger visitors!

From muddy cakes to magical potions, we've seen some wonderfully creative recipes made over the years.

Join us every Thursday for Random’s Rascals 1.30-2.30pm

Step outside and discover the magic of nature with experiences designed for children and adults with additional needs. Our sessions combine gentle animal interactions, hands-on exploration, and sensory activities to support connection, emotional growth, and confidence. All in a safe, supportive environment.

Held weekly for one hour, each session encourages curiosity and learning while creating lasting memories in the fresh air. We have 1:1 and family one off bookings available now until February. These are 1 to 3hrs depending on needs.

Come join us and watch confidence and joy blossom in the great outdoors!
