**Extreme Weather Update**

Dear Parents,

Despite our best efforts today, the classrooms have been extremely hot this afternoon.

Tomorrow and Thursday, we are giving you the option to collect your child at 1pm via St David’s Drive, once they have had lunch. Please send a Seesaw message to your child's teacher to let them know that you will be picking them up at 1pm.

If you choose to keep your child at home for the full day due to the heat, please let your child's teacher know via Seesaw.

If you are unable to collect your child at 1pm, or prefer them to remain in school, we will be open as normal until the end of the school day.

For our Year 6 pupils attending transition days at CQHS, these will continue as originally arranged from **8.50am until 2.45pm**. If anything changes then we will let you know.

If the forecast changes or we receive any further updates, we will let you know.

Thank you for your support.

As part of A Grand Week in Wales, the pupils of Year 5/6 at Ysgol Bryn Deva, Connah’s Quay, have created a collection of positive messages to share with the wider community.

We would be delighted if you could help us spread these messages far and wide, sharing a little kindness and positivity wherever they reach.

Please share this post and let us know in the comments where our messages have travelled to. We'd love to see how far Year 5/6's positivity can spread across Wales, the UK, and beyond!

Unfortunately, due to an error on my part when submitting our class messages, our Father’s Day messages did not make it into the Leader Father’s Day Supplement.

The children did complete their messages in class, but I didn’t submit them correctly. I know some families may have been looking forward to seeing them published, so I wanted to share them here instead.

My apologies for the mistake, and thank you for your understanding. We hope all of our dads, grandads and special father figures had a wonderful Father’s Day! 💙

🌟 Supporting a Wonderful Cause 🌟

We are incredibly proud of our lovely Year 3 pupil, Isabella, who is taking on a fantastic fundraising challenge this month for Make-A-Wish UK. 💙

Throughout June, Isabella is challenging herself to walk one mile every day to raise money through the Walk for Wishes fundraiser. 🚶‍♀️✨

Isabella has always shown a caring and compassionate nature and is passionate about helping others. She originally wanted to donate her hair, but while she waits for it to grow longer, she decided to make a difference in another way.

She has chosen to support Make-A-Wish because the charity holds a special place in her family’s heart. If you’d like to know more about why this cause means so much to her, Isabella would be happy to share her story.

We think Isabella is an inspiration and wish her the very best with her challenge. If you are able to support her fundraising efforts, every donation will help bring joy and unforgettable experiences to children living with critical illnesses. 💫

Good luck, Isabella - we’re all cheering you on! 👏💙

Right now, around 134,000 children in the UK are eligible for a wish because they’re facing critical illness. I’ve signed up for a new challenge and am fundraising for Make-A-Wish UK because every child deserves to wish for more than a life defined by their illness! You can help bring joy and sm...
