Making the choice to buy secondhand music books is one way to make sure that your practice is as eco friendly as possible.

At Play! Tuition I use preloved resources wherever possible and try my best to have as little carbon handprint as possible.

One thing that makes this easy to do is using the website usedandloved.com
Created by my brother and sister in law, usedandloved.com is a website that collates secondhand items (not just music books) from across the online marketplace all in one place.

So I can search for ‘Alfred’s Basic Adult Piano Course’ and it will show me results from eBay, Oxfam Online, Music Magpie, Vinted etc. all in a nice filterable list. I love it!

Davey and Jess are helping to make secondhand become second nature and I am so grateful for the tool they created.

Responsibility, self esteem, reading, coordination, maths skills, memory.

Learning a musical instrument can have a positive impact on many important areas of a child’s development.

The stand out for me is self esteem.

A child confident in their abilities and self worth is happier and more receptive to learning.
The positive changes a child can make to their own practice creates invaluable feedback surrounding the merits of their own efforts and abilities.
The gradual improvement a child sees in their piano playing is a boost to confidence like no other.
