🍰 MacMillan Cake & Coffee Afternoon at Astbury Lane 🍰 💚

Our children & staff have been busy bakers - making lots of treats, including cakes, cookies & flapjacks - to share with our families at our bake sale to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support 🧑🏻‍🍳🥣

💚 Along the way, the children have been developing so many valuable skills - from measuring & mixing to turn taking, teamwork and learning important self care skills - all while doing something meaningful for our community 💚

🌟 A BIG thank you to our wonderful children, families & team for their generous donations and for supporting our coffee afternoon. We are pleased to share that we are also hosting the event tomorrow 25.9.26 there is still plenty of time to choose a tasty treat and support a amazing charity 🌟

Our Preschool children have been celebrating International Dot Day - a day inspired by the story ‘The Dot’ - all about encouraging creativity, positivity and boosting confidence & self-belief. 🌈🌟

🟡🟢Our learners have been making their marks in a variety of ways today - face painting, using different materials including cups, pegs & even bouncy hoppers to create their own ‘dot’ inspired artworks 🔴🟣

To expand our learning and create a link to the wider world, we explored the art concept of ‘Pointillism’ and used the dot method to create our own Pointillism style pictures 🎨🖌️

♥️ A little random act of kindness goes a very long way ♥️

Preschool have been exploring the topic ‘All About Me’ and over the last couple of days have been focusing on emotions 😃

Over the last couple of days we have been spreading positivity, sprinkling a little kindness wherever we go and recognising the wonderful work that our team does every single day 🌟

The children have made cards & planted sunflowers for our wonderful team to say a big thank you for all they do to make every day at nursery, a happy one full of laughter & fun 🌻🌈

Community Litter Pick 🍃♻️

Preschool have been exploring ‘Planet Earth’ as our topic of the moment 🌎

We have been learning all about our planet and how we need to take very good care of it ❤️

As part of our Daily Mile, some of our preschool children took part in a community litter pick in the local area to help our planet and keep the wildlife safe 🚮

As we walked to and from the meadow, the children talked about road safety and one child told us that we needed to “make sure you look left and right” before crossing the road. We saw lots of vehicles on the way including cars, a lorry & the bus and we could hear the train too! 🚌 🚂 🚦

At the meadow, the children enjoyed exploring the different fruits they could see growing on the trees and picked some plums & apples for us to use at nursery (after leaving a few broken apples for the birds too). This afternoon, the children have chopped the fruit ready to make some jam! 🍎🫙

Well done, Preschool - thank you for taking such good care of our environment! 🌳 🍃 🦔
